Truss would have got a right going over had she called an election.

I'd rather much see them all properly shit their pants live on TV then made to clean it up afterwards. Big Grin

TBH Politics in this country probably one of the biggest divisions in this country. I am wondering now just how the result of this election will be viewed around the world especially across Europe & the US.

I get the feeling not many European leaders will react positively to change and I feel the US will probably analiyse it far more deeply.

It is probably the biggest & most decisive election for a long time.

I think other nations will care about this election about as much as they care for elections in France, Italy, Greece or Spain. A minor hiccup for a country that was once consequential, but now thinks itself far more important to world affairs than it really is.

5 minute segment on the nightly News … then Netflix’n’chill.

So rishi did the bare minimum at the D day celebrations flying home early to do a ITV interview leaving Cameron to do the events and starmer to attend the leaders thing where he met Zelensky macron and olaf schultz

even rishi thinks he is toast and prob silent quitting his job Tongue Tongue

was a reminder how good cameron was at the schmoozing as PM at world leaders events

RE: General Election 2024 - lovebabes56 - 07-06-2024 03:01

I bet Rishi also left as he felt embarrassed knowing he's going to get a right kicking in the election and thought the other leaders didn't want meet him.

I bet Cameron had a hard time explaining to the other leaders why he'd left, bet he embarrassed the King as well as I'm sure His Majesty would have expected him to stay.. Why go home for an interview when you could have rescheduled it as it is a key event marking an important date in British & world history? He's got plenty of other days to sort out interviews.

I bet Starmer was also embarrassed knowing he'd gone as he'd probably never met that many of the other leaders before.

According to Paul Brand from ITV that did the interview it was the time downing street gave them for the interview so looks like he had no intention of staying

thats another PM paul brand has done for he was one of the Journos that was disclosed Partygate along with Pippa Crear

will say one thing about Boris he would never have skipped out on something like that anything else maybe but not a world leader thing Tongue Tongue
