I spent 12 hours a day in that fucking hole when it was being built. I hope the vaccine is out of there faster laugh

The Hubs are admin & distribution centres. It doesn't mean the initial rollout is limited to those areas with a hub.

^^ Thanks, hope your right, doesn't seem to have been communicated to Hull City Council.
I understand this is all happening pretty fast, & it's going to take some organizing.

Seems they are already de-prioritising NHS staff for the first round of vaccines, and focusing on care home residents and staff.
This despite the logistical issues of getting this vaccine into care homes with its storage requirements.
Scotland had already said they are prioritising care homes despite the same logistical issues, so either they have found a solution, or Boris and co. are simply playing follow the leader yet again.

I hope I am wrong, but I can't help feeling this is yet another cock-up waiting to happen!

(Could just be me, I was meant to get a flu jab at work last week, but got 'misssed out', so I am feeling a tad cynical at the moment Smile)

On a more upbeat note, I was reading about how they eradicated the virus in australia, Victoria and Melbourne to be precise. A very strict lockdown, with state borders closed etc. Harsh, but with reasoned argument it had public backing with a clear pathway out the end of it, instead of yo-yoing between partial lockdowns and re-infections for evermore, and it has worked, no new infections reported for a couple of weeks now, and the local economy is starting to boom again. Interesting stuff.

^^ One recent study suggests that in the 1918 flu pandemic, the economy recovered better in the cities that imposed their lockdowns quicker & were the most severe.

for once its not the government who are deciding who gets it first, its the scientists which is good, they say that by doing it in this order by the time they get to level 9 it will mean that 99% of those most likely to die from covid will be protected with the most likely to die getting it first,
