I spent 12 hours a day in that fucking hole when it was being built. I hope the vaccine is out of there faster RE: Coronavirus - is enough being done to contain it? - Boomerangutangangbang - 03-12-2020 14:01 ^^ That explains a lot, enough to drive any sane person mad. RE: Coronavirus - is enough being done to contain it? - Boomerangutangangbang - 03-12-2020 22:49 So, a matter of weeks ago, & Hull topped the countries infection rate. is it's hospitals among the first 50 to receive the vaccine ? Is it it fuck. RE: Coronavirus - is enough being done to contain it? - Tumble_Drier - 03-12-2020 23:06 The Hubs are admin & distribution centres. It doesn't mean the initial rollout is limited to those areas with a hub. RE: Coronavirus - is enough being done to contain it? - Boomerangutangangbang - 03-12-2020 23:12 ^^ Thanks, hope your right, doesn't seem to have been communicated to Hull City Council. I understand this is all happening pretty fast, & it's going to take some organizing. RE: Coronavirus - is enough being done to contain it? - Cheesy Grin - 04-12-2020 11:07 I dont like to double post but as some of you may not see this in the other thread forgive me this once... It's worth three of your minutes RE: Coronavirus - is enough being done to contain it? - SecretAgent - 04-12-2020 11:11 ^ Absolutely brilliant! RE: Coronavirus - is enough being done to contain it? - munch1917 - 05-12-2020 09:47 Seems they are already de-prioritising NHS staff for the first round of vaccines, and focusing on care home residents and staff. This despite the logistical issues of getting this vaccine into care homes with its storage requirements. Scotland had already said they are prioritising care homes despite the same logistical issues, so either they have found a solution, or Boris and co. are simply playing follow the leader yet again. I hope I am wrong, but I can't help feeling this is yet another cock-up waiting to happen! (Could just be me, I was meant to get a flu jab at work last week, but got 'misssed out', so I am feeling a tad cynical at the moment ) On a more upbeat note, I was reading about how they eradicated the virus in australia, Victoria and Melbourne to be precise. A very strict lockdown, with state borders closed etc. Harsh, but with reasoned argument it had public backing with a clear pathway out the end of it, instead of yo-yoing between partial lockdowns and re-infections for evermore, and it has worked, no new infections reported for a couple of weeks now, and the local economy is starting to boom again. Interesting stuff. RE: Coronavirus - is enough being done to contain it? - Boomerangutangangbang - 05-12-2020 13:53 ^^ One recent study suggests that in the 1918 flu pandemic, the economy recovered better in the cities that imposed their lockdowns quicker & were the most severe.
