Gavin Williamson the defence secretary has been sacked by Theresa May after the National Security meeting details she held a few weeks ago had been leaked to the Daily Telegraph...next up please get rid of Failing Chris Grayling he is a real trainwreck!

It wasn't even a leak of classified material, about sources in the field or one with any operational information it was a leak about infrastructure that pertained to the general public. Nobody was compromised or put at risk by the information. The reason why he got fired was probably because the content of the leak put pressure on May as it shows a cataclysmic error of judgement on her part.

Not that I am looking to defend him or anything he blamed the leak on civil servants and in doing so threw people who are not in a position to defend themselves under the bus. Which is a major dick move

He leaked (although he still denies it) from a committee which deals with the most top secret issues and for which all members have to sign the Official Secrets Act. Sacking is the least he should expect because he could yet be prosecuted for breaching the Official Secrets Act

The meeting was covered by the Official Secrets Act. Once you sign that, you don't get to pick and choose which secrets to keep.
