Further proof (as if any were needed) that FIFA haven't got a clue about anything. In the latest world rankings, England, the team that couldn't even beat Montenegro at home, are rated ... wait for it .... 4th. Above Brazil. I also noticed that Wales are now 114th, equal with the Faroe Islands

Nice to know when you're doing worse than Panama, Colombia and Albania. Even Iran are ranked higher

All I can say about the rankings system that FIFA use is bizarre. I think they need to give a clear explanation of how they score these teams, and which matches constitute more importance in the standings.
If its simply that whichever teams play more often, ie: England playing more matches than Brazil over the course of a year, are ranked higher it really is nonsense. Appearing more often doesn't make something better - quality, not quantity.

there are more countries in europe than south america. 2006 world cup qaulifers in south america were changed to the european style league system (europe as groups south america have 1 league due to number of countries). they dont have qualifers for the copa america. this is why south american countries have a lower ranking. brazil and argentina have been over the last few years, the emergence of chile, urguay.
fifa ranking system is best on the number goals scored and conceded, the strength of the opposition, the importance of the team, win/lose/draw, away gets more points than a home win.
some teams are better than their ranking and some are over ranked.

Montenegro are highly ranked themselves though, as high as 16th in the current list. England wouldn't have lost out much by drawing against them, as they count as strong opposition.

England's new awful goalie kit 2011/2012 - Rammyrascal - 03-07-2011 16:44

RE: Football Banter - eagle_si - 03-07-2011 17:46
Is it worse than this lot? http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Articles/Room_101.htm
Pick out your own favourites. As a Palace fan, I have to laugh at Brighton's stripey shorts effort from 1991, which made them look even more like Tesco bags. Their away shirt at the time was even worse, it was red and white, and looked like a Chewit wrapper The early 90s truly were the nadir in footie shirt design.

You should have left it there eagle_si. There was no need to wrap it up in self justification.
We get it. Palace fans hate Brighton.
It's ok we all hate other teams with no rational explanation needed.
