France and Germany are expected to be next.

worth remembering that EU covid travel rules would ban anyone for the UK from the 1st of Jan going to Europe, only difference with this ban is it includes EU citizens who can still travel from 1st,
Spain is asking for the ban to be a Europe wide one,

Nope. Anyone on a train that's halfway through the Tunnel will be held on board at gunpoint for 6 months.

I thought this was a good piece on the failures of the West in handling the covid pandemic with some comparisons to Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Idiots they most certainly are!! Where though, were those within authority, charged with stopping such lunacy?? Once you show your hand in the form of a persuasive based soft approach, and you don't enforce with the weapons you have been given, you lose control, and they have! So far the new strain has not made it to NI - inevitable though I would suggest, and I would ditch the xmas rules as they currently are, and lockdown now!

Italy has several towns on lockdown with movement restrictions and Spain has reported it's first case.

Is the world doing enough to contain thr virus?
