looking at the draw it would be better for England to finish 2nd in their group

wont really know until the matches this afternoon if colombia qualify then we want to avoid at all costs because they could be a lot of trouble.

I agree with that, Colombia definitely the worst option to face in the next round, you would think. Senegal or Japan look preferable.

Football is all about confidence/momentum get the win's under your belt playing well doing so & let the opposition fear you instead of you fearing the potential opposition, so neither team should be looking over their shoulder hoping the right result for the easier passage into the final.
Throughout the competition no team has that dominant/unbeatable look about them where clear favourites like France, Brazil,Spain,Agrentina etc have stuttered & looked flaky at times.

To coin the phrase of old wwe's Ric Flair 'To be the man you have to beat the man' & so 'To be the team you have to beat the team' & so if we have the harder of the routes into the final so be it.If we get Brazil in the Quarter-Finals it would save beating them in the Final should be the frame-of-mind.

As for tonights game itself this 'dead rubber' match in which both teams will effectively field 2nd string teams as they've already qualified for the knock-out stages we will pretty much only get to see who has the better squad depth. With all the hype & with both teams facing 'live' opposition for the first time in the competition both teams will probably nullify each other out & it'll probably end up a bore 0-0 draw.

Colombia going through as Poland are beating Japan which is just as well as Colombia have shown very little goal threat

RE: World Cup 2018 - HannahsPet - 28-06-2018 15:35

Colombia 1-0 up

RE: World Cup 2018 - Charlemagne - 28-06-2018 15:43

The Columbian goal was coming. Senegal had sat back too deep.
But Senegal are finally coming forward. It could yet go down to yellow cards

Yes it's looking like a very tight finish to Group H. As things stand Colombia will win the group and Japan will finish ahead of Senegal on yellow cards.

Both matches are currently 1-0, but there's still about 10 minutes left in each match. Could this be another group decided by some very late drama?

Japan have 2 less yellow cards than Senegal

Nobody wanting to play in the Japan game for the last 5 minutes, just passing it around waiting for the whistle.
