It's just one poll that is been affected by the second income scandals but I highly doubt there are that many people who would switch their vote away from The Tories if they thought they were the better party on Jobs, economy, cultural issues etc just because of this.

I saw somewhere that if the election were held tomorrow & the result mirrored this poll Johnson would lose his seat, which sure is fun to think about

The lovely Ms Jennifer Arcuri is back…

Article

More Tory sleaze.

I’m sure Johnson will ride out the ethical scandal, as he always does.

But he still comes across like a lovesick bitch.

Only Boris could describe cuts to the HS2 plans as being monumental. I smell bullshit.

"New High Speed Rail Line" from Warrington to Manchester and on to the western border of Yorkshire. Note they do not mention any major conurbation in Yorkshire.

Boris Johnson has a new catchphrase "Promises Made Promises Broken"

In less that 24 hours he has reduced the benefits that less well off Northern homeowners will get under the Social Care changes and now reneged on manifesto commitments about rail services. That's not levelling up its saying FUCK YOU IN THE NORTH

The only good thing about Boris, is that he's consistent, consistently useless.
It annoys me how he and others claim to care about other regions in the UK, and the stupids eat it up, they have never cared!

There was an analysis of this on the radio this morning. The consensus was, that portion of HS2 was an ill-conceived waste of money anyway. They couldn't get it anywhere near the cities it was supposed to serve. People were going to have to travel out to 'hubs' to connect to it.
As one of the commentators put it "by the time you did that, you could be half way to London on the normal rail.

^ This totally ignores the fact that to get an intercity train in Leeds at the moment people travel into Leeds to get the train.

Oh and the HS2 website says hat the terminus in Leeds will be linked to Leeds City Station. It also says 40,000 additional jobs would be created and over £50BN generated for the region by 2050

Old Oak Common seems okay for London as well so really they are just making excuses.

So the high speed line from Warrington to Manchester and to the western boundary of Yorkshire is it seems going to terminate at Marsden in Yorkshire. This is a map showing where Marsden is (clue - it's in the middle of fucking nowhere!)
