Mayor Sadiq Khan has declared an emergency after there were fears of the NHS being overwelmed.
1 in 30 Londoners are believed to have the virus.

I can't think what event 3 weeks ago could have contributed to the surge in cases in London..... Rolleyes

These types of incidents will form an interesting part of the enquiry at the end of all this!! ie cause and effect! There has to be a means of holding people to account which is actionable (whoever they are - no pardons or exemptions) for the decisions/actions they took - particularly against expressed advice - which led to such disastrous outcomes!! If that is deemed to be where the fault/reason lies!

I see that the leader of the council controling Richmond is trending after she has given residents a stern warning to not make unnecessary journeys

If only she hadn't sent the message from her holiday in the Maldives bladewave

Well, at least she is socially distanced from her constituents.

The Maldives was one of the places that you could go and not quarantine when you got back. Still insensitive though

One 82 year old from Bristol has been told that she would have to travel 97 miles to get her vaccine jab.
She's trying to figure out how to get there as her mobility scooter will only travel 4 miles before it needs a charge.

So now the police commissioner has said that those under her command, will axtually start doing their job and issue fines for breaking covid restriction rules as quote: 'The situation has become severe' Really?? when did that happen?? No damage done in the meantime obviously??Huh with the relaxed approach adopted thus far when things were apparently 'not so bad'

Police not helped when Kit Malthouse the policing minister talking about exercising local says people and are okay and not breaking the rules if “in their own mind” they are exercising locally. WTF??? bladewaveRolleyes[/b]

In my opinion, a large number of people are really thick, & they require the restrictions & rules to be communicated clearly & concisely. However a small majority are a lost cause.

Spectacular hypocrisy from Boris & the government over exercise.

Ministers were praising police for fining 2 women who went for a socially distanced walk 5 miles from where they lived basically saying people have to stick to the rules/guidance

Yet when Boris went for exercise 7 miles from where he lived they tell us he “acted in accordance with the Covid guidance”

^ I believe that after the government defended Boris the police force which fined the 2 women rescinded the fine.
