Bompas and Parr, a high-end English jam company, has released Occult Jam, which comes in many varieties that contain extremely strange ingredients.
Some of the flavors include milk jam infused with Princess Diana’s hair, absinthe and pineapple jam with sand from the Great Pyramids or plum and oak jam with wood from a British warship.

King Adolf Frederick of Sweden was considered a weak ruler who failed to gain respect during his life.
His death didn’t help matters. The king died after consuming a meal of lobster, caviar, sauerkraut, kippers, and champagne followed by no fewer than 14 helpings of his favorite dessert.
He literally ate himself to death.

In the days of Napoleon, two Frenchmen named LePique and Grandpré decided to have a duel when they realized they were seeing the same woman.
But this was to be no ordinary duel—this contest was to be held in the skies above Paris!
They each got in their own hot air balloon, ascended to half a mile above the city, then drew their arms.
Lepique drew first and missed. Grandpré then fired…and popped LePique’s balloon, sending him and his pilot plummeting to their deaths.

A Memphis resident was given steroids for an allergic attack in 2009.
Over the next three years, her body suffered one of the strangest allergic reactions in medical history.
On the surfaces of her body which would normally grow hair, she started to grow nails, due to a change in the number of skin cells that were produced.
She is the only person on record to suffer from this rare disorder.

Many different species have bizarre mating rituals, but few rival the case of the billy goat.
When a male billy goat wants to impress a female, instead of dressing up in a suit and buying flowers, he urinates on his own head.
Apparently, the smell drives the female goats wild. To each their own I guess!

Do you know about the Doomsday clock?
This has been maintained since 1947 by members of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists originally based in Chicago.
They report each January and set their imaginary clock so many minutes before midnight depending how near they think we are to nuclear annilalation or global warming.
Obviously the further before midnight the better.
The best it's been was in 1991 when we had 17 minutes to get our affairs in order, quite long enough to knob the blonde in accounts whereas the worst it's been is 100 seconds, that's only 1 minute and 40 seconds which isn't even time to get to accounts.
I hate to have to tell you but that 1 minute 40 was fixed on the 23rd of January 2020, so that's where we are now. Gulp!
Obviously the clock has it's place in popular culture and I recall a great song in 1980 by Wah Heat entitled '7 minutes to midnight'
