The way the Dutch censors approach late night entertainment is exactly the same as Ofcom's predecessor The ITC did, they were fair just like Nicam are and also didn't participate in bullshit like harm and offence after the watershed. Ofcom are offended by sex and nudity, that's the bottom line, it's their morals and nobody's else's, but yes something needs done, last night the channels were that bad I felt like throwing a brick at the telly, Ofcom have pissed off too many of us and for too long and it has to fucking stop, again on the positive side we have a victory for Babestation. Ofcom should also take note and lessons from the Dutch and rewrite their out of date rulebook

I have not read all the posts here, but from reading some it refers to a great victory for BS/babe channels over Ofcom, but just what have BS done to gain this, from where I see it, bugger all, Ofcom have shot themselves in the foot over the so called content complaint, the one thing that I have not seen mentioned is the so called investigation over the advertising of website,channels on their broadcasts, any info into this anyone.

Although as satisfying as it was to read that statement, Ofcom is not going to give up on their crusade against the babes shows that easily. Mores the pity!

Just to add further salt to Ofcom's wound's it has been confirmed that yes Eurotic TV is indeed coming to SKY TV. It will be on the SKY EPG from next week onwards
Ofcom will not be happy but hey ho they also have an oversea's licence. Oh how I'd love to be a fly on the wall right now at Ofcom HQ

What have Cellcast/Game Network BV done, apart from start a bit earlier than the Ofcom-licensed channels? Ofcom have been perfectly happy with that for some time, so that can't be it.
The content is at the same level as other Freeview babe channels, so that can't be it either. The comments about on-screen masturbation etc are nonsense and just figments of a tabloid journalist's imagination to sex up the story.
Six TV's issue with EPG positioning is an entirely separate matter and the solution is in the hands of Ofcom, not Cellcast or the Dutch authorities.
Also, as we now know, the quoted Mumsnet comments were a massive red herring and nothing to do with the current issue of Dutch licensing.
Therefore I remain puzzled!

It's not a victory for the babechannels at all. The UK adult broadcasters have done the sweet fuck all of zilch in fighting Ofcon.
All that has happened is that the Dutch broadcaster has applied adult standards to their output and not this pathetic "no sex" stance that the UK government has implemented.
My (adult) thanks to NICAM for their opinion.

Agree with a lot you say Blackjaques, however we have no idea if Cellcast did indeed have a good lawyer aswell as the support of Nicam but what this does prove is that Ofcom's power is indeed limited, on the back of this defeat for Ofcom Eurotic TV right out of the blue have decided that they wish to broadcast their channel to SKY as of next week, now coincidence or what ? as I'm sure when they read the news regarding Babestation they put 2 and 2 together and went fuck it let's expand our audience even further, I sincerely believe if this sequence of events never occurred between Ofcom and Nicam then the likes of Eurotic TV wanting to join the UK SKY EPG would never have happened. Ofcom scoring a massive own goal has now made it common knowledge that their power's are indeed limited, something I firmly believe the rest of Europe probably didn't know about until now. Oversea's licence = Ofcom can do fuck all about which has proved the case over cellcast. Ofcom have infact proved the case for the defense and invited anybody who so wishe's to now to broadcast on the SKY EPG whatever they so wish to do so long as they don't have an Ofcom licence

I remember when you first discussed the possibility and wondered if it would ever happen I said probably not as it would be too expensive to set up separate 'soft' feeds for the UK. I'm happy to be proved wrong and I wish Eurotic every success.
