^^ Why do I get the impression that the white bits on that map are only white because Boris knows very little about them! More foreign travel should at least bring a little more equality in that regard. Rolleyes

That's a Georgian pavement. It's a challenge to repair it without destroying its character.

I noticed that the Chevening estate, which might have been expected to be the Foreign Secretary's alone, is to be shared with David Davis and Liam Fox too. And the Brexit Ministry will run from 9 Downing Street.

It's not really been commented on but Leadsom has responsibility for Agriculture so May has lined all the Brexiteers up to deliver what they promised - in Leadsom's case protecting the EU funding amount which currently goes to Agriculture. That itself is worrying the farming sector as she has argued in the past for scrapping such funding & said it would reduce red tape and the cost to the consumer.

RE: Conservative Leadership Contest - M-L-L - 19-07-2016 19:43

Beggars belief. Then again if the cost to the consumer actually more reflected the costs of production and weren't artificially distorted by pressure from supermarkets etc then maybe farming would be less dependent on subsidy ? Or - for instance - if all the instability in the Middle East leads to another cataclysmic oil price shock similar to the 1970s suddenly meaning it truly becomes bonkers economically as well as common-sensically to fly fresh produce around the world all year round and to ignore the whole concept of "seasons" ?
