I can now say that the oldest team to feature in a finals is Germany at the 1998 World Cup. Captained by Jürgen Klinsmann who was almost 34 and with Lothar Matthäus the oldest player at 37, they managed to rack up a record average age of 31.9 (and if you could put that team on a pitch with the current Portugal side, then Pepe and Ronaldo would be the oldest 2 players but the next 8 oldest would all be German).

Really enjoyed that game overall, it was a bit slow in the first half but once Germany got into it it became a better watch and a double bout of late drama was just delicious
Happy for Spain, a young team that plays great attractive football
Feel for The Germans they've had a bad decade, 6 months ago they were probably dreading hosting the tournament, Naglesman turns it around & many probably felt they were on for a special home tournament win

If we get through to semis and then through to Final, it'll be France or Spain waiting and the way things are on current form, I'd prefer the French Spain will go through us like a hot knife through butter.
