RE: Olympics - Charlemagne - 08-08-2021 09:03 Jason Kenny owes the Australian guy for allowing a 5 metres gap between himself and the rest of the riders. RE: Olympics - Snooks - 08-08-2021 11:46 RE: Olympics - Tumble_Drier - 08-08-2021 12:01 Closing Ceremony. The bit where the remaining Athletes stand around looking bored and wishing they were on the plane home RE: Olympics - Snooks - 08-08-2021 12:31 An unusual Olympics but still so special. This was very much a Games for the athletes. They wanted to compete even amidst the strict protocols, lack of crowds and degree of uncertainty. Months and years of preparation saw to that. A successful Games for Team GB too. The sailing, boxing and cycling teams all excelled in particular. The BMX racing looked like an absolute blast. A modern pentathlon double and a hugely significant and symbolically important silver medal in womens weightlifting. I love the Olympics more than words can say. It is the biggest and the best sporting event in the world imo bringing together so many competitors from so many nations and sports all at the same time. It has helped me on a personal level find a bit of enthusiasm and energy for something as I battle away with my mental health. For that I am hugely grateful and my love affair with the Olympics grows forever stronger . A final reflection? Well just the one. Albie Kenny will think he lives in a medal factory . Farewell Tokyo and thank you RE: Olympics - Tumble_Drier - 12-08-2021 18:07 Fucking cheating cunt. Ban him for life https://www.bbc.com/sport/athletics/58193101.amp RE: Olympics - lovebabes56 - 13-08-2021 09:13 Totally agree did he fucking ever realise the consequences if he was caught? Hope you are apologising to yout relay & Team GB team mates for the rest of your life. RE: Olympics - Snooks - 20-01-2024 18:19 The mens and women's GB hockey teams have both qualified for Paris 2024 via qualifying tournaments. Top three in each tournament progress to Paris. The women had to win a last chance saloon third place play off against Ireland which they did 2-1. The men have also qualified after beating New Zealand in the semi final thereby guaranteeing their spot and at worst 2nd place in the qualifying. RE: Olympics - lovebabes56 - 23-01-2024 05:29 [Paris 2024 Hockey Pools MEN POOL A[/u][/b]: NETHERLANDS, GERMANY, GREAT BRITAIN, SPAIN, FRANCE (H), SOUTH AFRICA. POOL B: BELGIUM, INDIA, AUSTRALIA ARGENTINA, IRELAND, NEW ZEALAND WOMEN POOL A: NETHERLANDS, BELGIUM. GERMANY, JAPAN, CHINA, FRANCE( H). POOL B: AUSTRALIA, ARGENTINA, GREAT BRITAIN, SPAIN, USA, SOUTH AFRICA. It was good to see both our teams qualify, but I'd say these are Pretty tough group stages for both GB Teams. At least the men Avoided India but have to be at their best in Paris. I would feel the women also havie it far tougher facing both Ausralia & South Africa. I would like to think that both teams should come home with at best silver medals, with possibly outside gold medals chances. |
