I see someone has started a petition for a state funeral.

The main reason it's not happening has already been posted, but the other thing that people have clearly forgotten is that there's currently a limit of 30 mourners plus "Officials".

Let the family say goodbye in private. I doubt they actually wanted to spend the last 9 months or so in front of the cameras.

WHO investigation in Wuhan - I had heard they had visited the wet market sites in the area (and I assume they are still open contrary to what China has said about them being closed) - so, when will we know the conclusions and findings of that investigation and would we expect it to criticise the Chinese for not doing enough to prevent the pandemic or anything?

Two bits of positive news today:

A health economist at the University of Leeds says that analysis suggested there appears to already have been approximately 25 per cent declines in death rates among over-80s.

And SAGE is saying that 'If a vaccine could prevent 65% of transmission, the country's death rate could be kept to the low hundreds per day or fewer from late March onwards'

saw these on twitter, thought they would be of some interest,

this first one is shown that the early data is showing that the vaccine is possibly already helping less over 80's die the first to get it,

this one shows how many may die and when depending on when and how lockdown is lifted based on the new vaccine stopping people passing it on as it looks like it dose

The EU's dealing with the Oxford Astra Zenica vaccine is bizzare.

They go way over the top in trying to force a supply (including shutting the Irish Border) and then several of the countries try and rubbish the product by saying that they've not had enough data to give it to their over 65's .

Our governments MHRA today are saying that there is data to say that it works on the over 65's.

Rumours flying around that the Article 16 farce was triggered by a request from a member state.

I'm sure it wasn't the member state with 2 failed vaccines, a shockingly bad vaccine rollout and a leader with an upcoming election who is struggling in the polls.

Jeremy Corbyn's brother, Piers, has been arrested for creating and distributing anti-vax leaflets that compared the Covid vaccine programme to Auschwitz.

Fucking moron bladewave
