^Totally agree too Charle!! If it is going to take a 17 year old with Aspergers to make noises about what is really going on and sharing her concerns and I do not see why she should make other 17 year olds make the same noises then finally politicians may listen but I tip my hat to her for making Trump look a bigger idiot than he really is and make him shut up for five minutes!!

Aagghh!! annoyedannoyedannoyed these bloody cold calls are soooo annoying. I see the Microsoft Windows one is still doing the rounds and we also get occasionally an American woman purporting to come from Amazon(recorded message) and usual survey ones. We wondered why we were getting three different satellite insurance people ringing up and then it was discovered that my father had somehow done the insurance with all three of them. Hopefully we will get at least two of them stop ringing up BUT the very worst are the foreign callers preceded by FIVE seconds of silence before the noise of a call centre kicks in. Damn flipping nuisance.!!!annoyedannoyedannoyedannoyedannoyed

Personally I give every caller at least FOUR seconds to say something or I put the phone down. Where the computer one is concerned we just say we don't have one any more and hope they get it-not always it would seem. No matter how many services you sign up to these bloody calls keep coming through, although the people we are with have definitely lessened these calls Rolleyes Smile

^ Buy a whistle. I find (once I know it is a scam call) that a sharp blast on the whistle does rather damage their focus.

I did consider that and also pretending to be a copper(as a friend of ours did once) but it is easier to just put the phone down on them.

I never say my name now when answering my landline and only answer on my mobile if I know the caller. On the landline I’ve said many a time that they can’t speak to Mr SecretAgent because he’s dead. I did once try to get a donation to the local hospice out of the guy calling laugh Haven’t done it for a while but I’ve even repeated back to the caller everything he says just to piss them off. Pity the Telephone Preference Service to block sales calls is so ineffective.

We just answer with the last four digits of the number as we've always done although in the olden days we would have a word to say-ours was ENTERPRISE and then the last four digits...I miss that. I once answered the phone in an Irish accent and on the other end of the line was an Irish woman! What were the odds?laughlaugh

I unplugged the handset from the landline ten years ago. Haven't had a cold caller since Cool

Un-be-smegging-believable!! annoyedannoyedannoyed My money, that I am trying to transfer to another bank(online)account has been sent back AGAIN after the woman I spoke to on the phone told me to wait for a verification code to be sent, which duly arrived this morning. I entered said code and then discovered that earlier this morning I had been sent an email that said the deposit has been sent back to my original bank. I rang the new bank and she checked and the money had indeed been sent back. So the upshot of this seems to be I have to first input the code THEN go back to the bank and get them to re-re-transfer the money -sheesh!! If it fails again, and it won't be through any fault of mine this time, I won't bother with that bank and look elsewhere. ("Heavy is the burden of being Me!" Q-Star Trek Deep Space 9)-how bloody true!annoyedannoyedannoyed Smile

^ Good luck with getting it sorted, banks seems to be getting worse and worse

RE: The "Pissed Off " Thread - GMach1 - 25-01-2020 17:41

Main bank is fine, it's the one I am transferring money to(online) that is causing the problems. Hope to settle this properly Monday - if not I will have to find somewhere else for my investment and it will be their fault this time not mine. Will keep you posted.
