RE: Scottish Football - Doddle - 15-05-2021 07:15 Brian Rice has geed up Hamilton fans by making plain he thinks immediate promotion next year is too much to hope for. Just as a better bloody manager is too much to hope for, too. I'm not saying I think he's the main problem. I just can't see him as the solution. RE: Scottish Football - Doddle - 16-05-2021 20:19 Hamilton went down without a fight to Kilmarnock, but Ross County finished 10th, so it's Killie v Dundee. Credit to Rangers for their title and records yesterday. RE: Scottish Football - mikedafc - 17-05-2021 22:06 I think he decided to play a lot of the youngsters v Kilmarnock to see how many of them he would offer contracts to for next year. I expect Hamilton will go back to a model of bringing through youngsters and built up again over a couple of years RE: Scottish Football - Doddle - 21-05-2021 07:08 Dumbarton's good first leg saw them through to beat Edinburgh City, and avoid relegation. Dundee started well against Kilmarnock. RE: Scottish Football - Doddle - 22-05-2021 06:46 Morton battered Airdrie to make it two non-relegations out of two. Will Killie complete the set? RE: Scottish Football - Doddle - 22-05-2021 20:17 St Johnstone beat Hibernian 1-0 to win the Scots Cup for the first time since 2014 (which I don't remember if I'm honest), and the first non-Old Firm side to win both domestic Cups since Aberdeen 31 years ago (what a Sky Sports News parrot I am this evening). So well done them. Also Playing the Game - Garry O'Connor This BBC Scotland effort looked at his injury mishaps, drug troubles, and adventures playing in Moscow. He seems to be on the straight and narrow now (or in 2019 anyway). RE: Scottish Football - Doddle - 23-05-2021 20:30 Kelty Hearts got the job done against Brechin City, and will take their place in the League, so well done there; with Berwick and East Stirling already "down", the slow transfer of "non-league" teams into the league continues. RE: Scottish Football - Kingsmind - 24-05-2021 14:28 Think that shows how poor League 2 is and the Non League teams would be promoted ages ago if it wasn't for no relegation what do you guys think?. But that was an amazing fall from grace for Brechin in the Championship now all the way down to the Non League something you would see an English team do , just realised it is the opposite for Kelty Hearts after only 5 seasons as a professional team they are already in the Scottish League. Anyway congrats to Kelty Hearts it is great to see different teams in the Scottish League that's a 3rd now and great to see them taking there chances now they can play in the league. RE: Scottish Football - mikedafc - 24-05-2021 19:14 Not looking good for Killie 2-0 down already tonight RE: Scottish Football - Doddle - 24-05-2021 20:42 (24-05-2021 14:28 )Kingsmind Wrote: Think that shows how poor League 2 is and the Non League teams would be promoted ages ago if it wasn't for no relegation what do you guys think?.I am a broken record on the issue of promotion and relegation in Scotland. I get the arguments that not all non-league teams are equipped for life in the next level up, but the hurdles they have to jump through to get even a chance of promotion is a total farce. Gretna were a one-off, and though some clubs, eg Selkirk, have crashed and burned, there are many teams, eg East Kilbride, who have seemed match-ready for years. Bonnyrigg Rose are another likely future entrant, if they get the chance. |
