Nick Diaz Launches Next Phase of His Professional Life… WAR MMA
Nick Diaz hasn’t said much recently about whether or not he will remain retired following his recent loss to Georges St-Pierre, but he is not sitting idle, launching a new facet to his professional life… WAR MMA.
Diaz made his new fight promotion official on Wednesday, announcing his first event, WAR 1, for June 22 at Stockton Arena in his hometown of Stockton, Calif. The fight card currently stands at six bouts, featuring Daniel Roberts vs. Justin Baesman in the main event.
Other announced bouts on the inaugural WAR MMA fight card include Antonio Banuelos against Benny Vinson, Caleb Mitchell vs. Evan Esguerra, Roy Boughton vs. Liron Wilson, Mike Persons vs. Clayton McKinney, and Darin Cooley vs. Cody Gibson.
More bouts will be announced in the upcoming days. WAR MMA fight cards are expected to feature a mix of professional and amateur bouts.
WAR 1 will stream live for free at NickDiazPromotions.com. The stream begins at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. Tickets are currently on sale.
Non-title bouts will consist of three five-minute rounds, while title bouts, when instituted, will consist of five five-minute rounds, and fall under the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts.
In an attempt to re-institute more of the grappling game into its fights, WAR does not allow for elbows to the head of grounded opponent, forcing the fighter in top position on the ground to either advance position or create space for punching.
WAR MMA bouts will also be fought in a ring instead of a cage. <<<

Rousey vs Tate now for TUF18. Mysterious injury to Cat Zingano.... The timing!
UFC wanted this all along. All about the dollar... Dana White looked disgusted and shocked when Zingano knocked Tate out that night. Really fishy for me.
Zingano's a monster in the woman's division, they don't want Ronda getting her lights switched off too soon!
Not complaining though Rousey and Tate are pretty tasty!

Tom Watson v Thales Leites added toUFC 163 in Rio De Janeiro. I thought this was the first event to be shown on BT Sports? Does anyone know when BT will start showing the UFC, I need to know so I can cancel ESPN.

Yeah, ESPN ends July 31st so UFC 163 will be the first on BT, as you say.
Although BT are keeping at least one ESPN branded channel up apparently in addition to the BT channels and then they will all be in the one BT Sports subscription package together. Does everybody's ESPN subscription just pass onto BT Sports then automatically from July 31st? It sounds that way but who knows.
