RE: Dr Who - lancealot790 - 01-10-2011 19:17 Worst series of Dr Who Ever RE: Dr Who - Doddle - 02-10-2011 09:54 (01-10-2011 19:17 )lancealot790 Wrote: Worst series of Dr Who EverI wouldn't go that far... It was an alright finale, but not as good as last year's Roll on Christmas RE: Dr Who - Rammyrascal - 02-10-2011 11:08 watched it this morning on iplayer and yes it wasnt as good as previous series finales, but it was still a very good finale none the less, very confusing at first but then things came clear and things built up to the end where the doctor "died" and was then revealed that he hadnt died after all . also several things have been put in motion for the xmas special and the next series next year RE: Dr Who - Cheesy Grin - 02-10-2011 11:18 (01-10-2011 19:17 )lancealot790 Wrote: Worst series of Dr Who Ever I would agree that it's not been the best ever series. but it had it's good points. thought the last episode was very well put together. My biggest hate with 'Dr who' is the 'River Song' character played by Alex Kingston. It really gets on my nerves how she keeps calling the Dr "Sweety" The rest of the cast get my thumbs up... especially Amy... love those long legs RE: Dr Who - lancealot790 - 02-10-2011 11:31 This series of Dr Who has been far too convoluted and confusing, there were no single stand out episodes as in previous series and it was,nt scary or exciting. The Silence were not in the slightest bit scary ( they reminded me of the canteen band from Star Wars ) and River Song went from an interesting and edgy character to simply being very annoying. The underlying theme of the whole series has been the death of the Doctor, the only problem with that is everybody knew the Doctor was always going to survive, it was merely a matter of how and not if. Matt Smith is a superb Doctor and Karen Gillian is an excellent sidekick and i am hoping for a much needed return to form in the next series. RE: Dr Who - Chimpy - 02-10-2011 11:38 In general this most recent series hasn't been the best because it lacked from original stories, how many times have they used the ' kid has a monster in its bedroom' story? or how often can Amy and Rory get trapped somewhere or killed (only to live again) before it gets boring,....based on the dip on viewing figures i believe people already are getting bored. Everyone knew the Doctor wasn't going to die last night because of the recent news about them filming the Christmas special, a show like Doctor Who really shouldn't have any spoilers (Damn BBC Press Office!) Whats the point in watching a whole series until its climax when you already know everyone survives? I think Doctor Who needs to get darker, like the first few series of Torchwood, maybe some of his companions could die for a change and they also need to stop recycling the Daleks, Cyberman and any other creatures/monsters they have done to death. Lastly, you have a guy who can travel through anywhere in time and space but nearly all of the episodes are based on Earth and London, i know budget restraints don't allow for huge lavish sets but anywhere in the universe would be better then spending 45 minutes with James Corden in a poky council house. RE: Dr Who - Cheesy Grin - 02-10-2011 11:49 ^^^^^ Well said Chimpy. good comments everyone. RE: Dr Who - lancealot790 - 02-10-2011 12:15 100% agree with the above comments, almost all the earth bound episodes seem to be set in London with the odd trip here and there just to break up the monotony. I have no issue with the Daleks as they are the classic Dr Who villains, but they really do need to make the monsters of the next series more scary, without a doubt since the rebirth of Dr Who the best episodes were the darker and creepier ones, was anything more scary than those little children in the Gas masks? ( are you my mummy? no i am not! now fuck off and me alone you little bastards ) they and the Weeping Angels episodes are right up there with the very best of Dr Who. We need far more like that to put the series back where it belongs as the best Saturday night entertainment there is. Oh god! i had to think about those evil little children No sleep for me tonight |
