That was a pretty great season opener, the potential for new tech etc is huge, and I'm liking Book, he's interesting.

Ep 2 “Far From Home” Season 3

All I can say is Georgiou kicks ass fast becoming one my fav characters but it’s ending of the Ep. All there’s some very familiar that happens at the start of the Ep from the movie Star Trek Generations and there’s also something familiar from Star Trek Enterprise.

“Far From Home”

after last weeks ep focused on Burnham, this weeks ep focuses on the U.S.S Discovery as it arrives in the 32nd century. Something is up with Detmer, Georgiou is a badass and Saru & Tilly explore a settlement

Some great special effects of the various predicaments of U.S.S. Discovery and a neat little twist in the reunion at the end.

Seems to be heading down Roddenbery's Andromeda route in the quest to restore the lost myth of Star Fleet/Federation, and I'm all for it. This series needed to shake off the continuity baggage that weighed too heavy on it. I'd almost treat the first two seasons like a long pilot for this season and beyond. Speaking of Andromeda, Burnham and Saru are playing the honourable Dylan Hunt role, while Georgiou seems to be the more troublesome Tyr.

Pretty to look at but really just rubbish.

RE: Star Trek Discovery - skully - 25-10-2020 12:57

I enjoyed the second episode, although that bad guy was wank, I'm looking forward to Discovery getting upgrades (surely).

Third series vey mixed in quality and plot so far

RE: Star Trek Discovery - *Kal-El* - 25-10-2020 17:03

^^^ To be fair regarding the plot it’s been two eps wouldn’t it be better to judge it further in then a couple eps.

S3 Ep3 “People Of Earth”

What Burnham did in the yr she was alone in the future is revealed & the Discovery returns to Earth. This episode is directed by Jonathan Frakes (Riker from Star Trek: TNG)

Ep 3 “People of Earth” Season 3

This Ep actually felt like a traditional Star Trek Ep, once again Georgiou stealing the show again. There is DS9 reference with one of characters with particular species and big twist towards the end.
