In the other match today New Zealand take on Australia at Lords.

Australia won the toss and decided to bat. Current score 92-4 off 21

Afghanistan from a position of possible victory have contrived to lose yet again.
Chasing 228 to win Pakistan scrambled home to win by 3 wickets and force England nearer the exit door in this World Cup.
If Pakistan beat Bangladesh in their final match England may face a situation in which they MUST beat both India and New Zealand to qualify.

HOW has it gone so horribly wrong for the hosts? If the guys had kept cool, calm and collected in that Australia game we would be almost nailing down a semi spot. We now face an Indian side who are at the very top of their game and we go into this being a def must win game or bust for England. Whether Hales can be the one that holds England together is key, probably but I feel to win this, England have to keep India below 300 in a run chase and below or just on 4 an over if India bat first. If we bat first we hsve build steady, composed individual innings and at least try to get to as close to 340- 350 to give India something to think about.

England: Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Chris Woakes, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Jofra Archer, Mark Wood.

Two changes therefore, with Jason Roy and Liam Plunkett in for James Vince and Moeen Ali. England have won the toss and elected to bat, and batting first is probably no bad thing given how few successful chases there have been in this tournament.

England have scored 47 - 0 off 10 overs. Obviously decided that they need to bat out 50 overs today.
England will target the 3rd seamer

Bairstow out on Nelson 111. Sad

But the team are still on for 350 runs plus

England finish on 337/7 with 121 of those runs coming in the last 13 overs. Another good innings from Stokes, 79 from 54 balls.
