Isn't it more about being in the EU and membership of being in the EU? All people in the UK, in or out of the EU are European, they don't have to pay for that. If the people of the UK can pay to be in the EU when the UK as a country is out then any country can. Is Australia European, wasn't that in the song contest, I don't know I don't watch it. RE: Europe..IN or OUT?? - HannahsPet - 01-12-2016 05:38 Australia isnt in europe it was allowed once to have an entry because it is a huge event. thats why if it had won then the event would have been held in another european country proberly the UK which would have been ironic actually the EBU is a great example basically its a collection of different countries that pay to be part of a union which does deals on stuff like Olympic and world cup rights Assoicate membership of EU is what Countrys like Iceland and Norway and swizerland have they pay for access to the market but free movement Think this plan is to allow only UK citizens to retain the same access to the free movement and individual rights that other EU countries citizens and we have now already have. Think its a way of letting the sane 48% have access to EU RE: Europe..IN or OUT?? - munch1917 - 01-12-2016 05:46 (01-12-2016 04:06 )wackawoo Wrote:(30-11-2016 15:01 )munch1917 Wrote: Not all the countries in the world are european! Are you really that stupid, or are you just trolling? A country can be in europe without being in the EU, they are separate things. Currently only countries considered european can apply for EU membership. The notion being proposed is that individuals living in such a EUROPEAN country which is not itself in the EU can pay a fee for individual, personal membership of the EU. There is no suggestion that this applies to citizens of non-european countries, or that EU membership be opened up to the entire world. The Eurovision song contest is not, and never has been, a valid indicator of whether a country is considered to be in europe or not, it is just a contest organised by the broadcast media, it has no more bearing on geo-political issues than the bloody X-Factor [Israel would be a better Eurovision example anyhow, as it has won, and I think hosted, but is not a european country] RE: Europe..IN or OUT?? - HannahsPet - 01-12-2016 05:54 Who you calling Stupid me or wackawoo cos if its me you just used same arguments i have RE: Europe..IN or OUT?? - munch1917 - 01-12-2016 06:11 (01-12-2016 05:54 )HannahsPet Wrote: Who you calling Stupid me or wackawoo I'll give you a clue, it's not you RE: Europe..IN or OUT?? - wackawoo - 01-12-2016 17:32 (01-12-2016 05:46 )munch1917 Wrote: Are you really that stupid, or are you just trolling?........ No, Hannahspet, I'm the only one the mods not only allow members to insult (thereby breaking rules) like that but also thank them for doing so. To me to me this is quite simple, your original post (ie the one I was responding to) said absolutely nothing about the EU restricting paid access to the EU to European contries only. When I read this, I thunked, 'hmmm, if they could allow one none EU countries peoples and business access to the goodies of EU membership there is no reason why this could not be extended to other none European contries, in a road that could lead to a form of global 'free' trade. To this end I posted a post, what I thought was nothing more than a mild musing on the matter; apparently this was cause for attack. However, none suggestion that it doesn't apply to none European countries does not mean it CAN'T apply - hence my comment being: " THAT COULD apply to all the countries in the world" Which it could, especially considering this is just at the suggestion stage and nothing but nothing is law yet. It's very odd how poeple on here seem to think they are experts on matters where nothing as been decided yet. A flippant example is Australia, despite being thousands of miles away from Europe where none the less in the EUROPEAN song contest, thus showing the potential. If something like paid access to the EU did become LAW and FACT (not conjucture), then I see no reason why places (not in Europe) could not suggest the same happens there, especially considering that places like Australia and Canada have hunge amounts of British ex pats living there. Although, I must thank Munchy boy and others for the education of not all countries are in Europe and that Australia isn't either, bit wasted on a science grad that could tell him what tectonic plates the worlds land masses are on and where the obduction and subduction zone are. And 'troll'? seriosuly? Dare I comment? I dare. It all depends, would this come with freedom of movement? then it should be a no no, if it does not, and there is more than the single market involved with not being in the EU and abiding by laws set in Brussels, then it could be the best of both worlds. I assume it would be finantially viable tradewise. Quote:You can't go into any negotiation expecting to get every single objective that you set out with and concede nothing along the way. It will have to be a deal that works for both sides Which is true. Strickes me that all these rumours are nothing more than ideas thrown in the air reading that article. If the EU says ANY access to the EU comes with freedom of movement then it will fall down there; unlikely brexit people would accept that; unless ofcourse the government can now just ignore brexit, cock a hat to it but it's EU by the back door. Question is, would these contributions to the EU these people are talking about, be more or less than tarrifs? Do excuse my trolling of course. |
