I just got a flyer though my door advertising this event in my local comic-book shop

If you do come to my town (Chelmsford), please wipe your feet first. I won't be at the signing so I can't meet any of you for a 'man date', thankfully Wink

A little confusing (the Confidential did piece together the River Song timeline well though) - I suppose they are little stuck between trying to make Saturday evening 'entertainment' and sci-fi drama to engage the minds.

The Silence are good 'aliens' if you take into account the horror films idea that - it is often more frightening when you think something is there, but you cannot see it.

I remember the old days of long scarves, wobbly walls and dodgy special effects - thumbs up to them and looking forward to the 50th anniversary in 2013 (50 years Surprised)

"the silence" is the doctor because the blue head guy says what the question is "doctor who?" when the doctor is at the time and place the blue head guy mentioned and the question is asked "the silence" will/must fall meaning the doctor has to say his name, thus ends the doctor?

the doctor in a doctor suit was brilliant.

In the ep of Supernatural there's nod to Doctor Who as this girl from Sam Winchesters past has the fake name of Amy Pond as her cover thought that was a nice touch Smile.

The only problem with the next season of Doctor Who is because of the success and high drama of season 6 is viewer expectation, for example Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 5 was probably the best with the next season proving to be something of a let down, I just hope that headwriter Steven Moffat still manages to keep the drama fresh and not to revisit old ground by bringing back something such as the Dalecs which has been done to death Cool

RE: Dr Who - Doddle - 31-10-2011 13:29

The problem is scale & expectation. Having spent the whole of this year going "How will the Doctor cheat death?" Surprised it's going to be a step down to go back to the old "oh no, 10 million CGI blobs are threatening London/the Earth, but never mind that because the companion fancies the Doctor Rolleyes"

Then there's the question of how & when Matt Smith goes shocked

The new series is ok, i do however prefer the 'classic' series.

sad news for us pervs karen gillan will be leaving dr who during the next series, moffatt announced this during the premier screening the crimbo special, he said "the days of the ponds are coming to an end." he is not reveling when or where but it will heartbreaking. then the dr who meets a new friend and moffatt is not reveling whether its a he, she or an it.

RE: Dr Who - Rammyrascal - 16-12-2011 00:32

Sad but this will be karen's 3rd dr who series so can understand why she's leaving as she has been on a long time. im sure she'll get a good send off
