RE: Help Needed - Technical - gunnar - 03-01-2015 12:08 Smc has posted some vids this morning of Delia Rose and Ashley Emma and they seem to be watchable. The problem still seems to any vid which Smc has posted in the last few months, because they all seem to have the same vk.com message on them, The only exception is a few 241 RLC vids. I don't know whether Smc is Going to replace every vk.com vid from the past few months, or if the bloke knows another way to solve it, either way it's a pity this happened because the vids & caps posted are normally of the highest quality. RE: Help Needed - Technical - Sm© - 03-01-2015 15:45 ^^^ I won't be replacing the vids, too much hassle trying to get a mod online thats willing to edit 3025 posts I'll post any new videos on video bam till Vk gets their shit together... For ignorant people like me who don't know their VKs from their Videobams, does this mean that all the stuff that was on VK is now lost? If so, that's a great shame as your vids were really good, especially for people who just wanted to watch e.g. on a tablet. Did VK give the reason for blocking your stuff? If it was for "pornographic" material why did they apparently leave it so long before doing it? I smell a whiff of hypocrisy here. No, all my VK videos are still hosted on the VK site. If you register an account on VK you can still watch the videos, including the ones embedded on this forum. I've been trying to find out why VK have decided to block this forum, but to no avail RE: Help Needed - Technical - munch1917 - 04-01-2015 12:05 ^^^ VK has had some issues regarding copyright violations, particularly with vids and pics, and are supposedly tightening up their systems regarding this. I wonder if they have rolled out some sort of security scripting measures which aren't quite as polished as they might be. I have seen similar kinds of issues from the file sharing sites when they implement javascript protection measures to block download managers and suchlike. The browser can get 'stuck' in the javascript, throwing an error which gets misinterpreted by the website, and you get a file missing error, or an endless loop of captchas or something similar. This can often be specific to certain browsers or certain versions, as seems to have been the initial case here. I tried one of your 'blocked' vids through the tor browser. It shows a still preview of the vid just fine, suggesting it is there OK. It won't play the vid as there is no flash player in that browser. I configured my regular browser to go through tor, and the vid comes out as blocked. Perhaps here, because there is a flash player, the extra layer of script protection kicks in, and the blocked error occurs. Accessing the vid through various proxies is hit and miss, most free proxies have major issues with allowing things like javascript through anyhow (accessing script heavy sites like MFC through free proxies is pretty hard work). Most proxies give the blocked message, but some do seem to show the vid OK, no blocked message, but they do fail at actually playing the vid, not really surprisingly. If this is the issue, it could be that with some further fine-tuning of the measures, things will return to normal in due course. As for the vids being accessible if you have a VK account, it would make sense for any security measure to apply mainly to non-members, thus encouraging you to get an account. Alternatively, but less likely, it could be a regional block applied to the UK and various other countries, perhaps to circumvent these copyright violation issues (I believe they blocked the US for this reason at one point). If someone has access to a vpn service with multiple exit points, that could be tested by trying different routes to access the blocked vids. EDIT : just to muddy the waters further, in chromium I can access the vid direct from VK and play it just fine by copy-pasting the link (have to switch it to HD first). RE: Help Needed - Technical - gunnar - 04-01-2015 13:34 Just created a Vk.com account and am now able to see the vids. RE: Help Needed - Technical - lancealot790 - 31-01-2015 19:49 I have been thinking about getting myself a Kindle but there are a lot to choose from, any suggestions? RE: Help Needed - Technical - Bandwagon - 31-01-2015 21:05 Take a look at this, hope it helps http://www.which.co.uk/technology/computing/guides/which-kindle-should-i-buy/ |
