RE: Olympics 2012 - Charlemagne - 29-07-2012 20:15 GB score ... now 3-1. RE: Olympics 2012 - The Truth - 29-07-2012 20:22 Madness! At 1-1 looked like only one team would win UAE,then inspired substitution by pearce turns the game on it's head. Good Times. RE: Olympics 2012 - malicious fan - 29-07-2012 20:23 hope honduras hold on in last 10 mins against spain! RE: Olympics 2012 - dan g 27 - 29-07-2012 20:41 Looking at the groups after the second round of matches, some of the pre tournament favourites could be eliminated in the group stages such as Spain (they could be gone as I write this), Uruguay and Switzerland. A little shocking if that happens, as they have some good players in their squads, but I guess it doesn't matter how good your players are, its how good they play as a team that matters RE: Olympics 2012 - Money_Shot - 29-07-2012 21:12 Spain lost 1 - 0 RE: Olympics 2012 - TheTrooper - 29-07-2012 21:49 (29-07-2012 17:16 )Charlemagne Wrote: CW's favourite sport.. Its a shame because with the empty seats, it must be heartbreaking for some people because they thought most events were sold out. It would be a dream come true for a lot of people to get tickets for some of their favourite events Sponsors/IOC membrs who have bought tickets and do not use them should be made to put them back on sale, especially IOC members. I do not hope that this row will not overshadow Team GB's performances, but I fear that the longer it is allowed to rumble, the more damaging it could become to team morale. No athlete likes to perform to banks of empty seats. We have been always led to believe that all tickets were sold for events and when this happens, it is not good televeision. I fear there will be a big drop off of spectators going to the Games and television viewers if it is not sorted soon and that could be disastrous for upcoming medal hopes. The IOC needs to look at this problem once both the Games and Paralympics are over and get it right for 2016 and needs to lower it's allocation to it's own members and therefore give the general public more chance to see events. If it does change it's policy, then maybe the first test of any changes made, will come in the next Winter Olympics. I was pleased for Liz Armistead, she rode a great race and defintely showed the boys how it should be done, Well done Liz and well done Becky Addlington I hope that will inspire her to better thuings for the 800. |
