USA Women's 100m hurdles team doesn't seem to be having the same luck they did in the 400 Wink

Regular 400m runners would be happy with 50.68 but for hurdles runners? OMG.
MIND BLOWING!!

She ran faster than 2 of the finalists in the flat 400m final while negotiating those barriers. I would like to see her run a regular 400m.

I reckon on the flat she would probably even get close to Michael Johnson's times I reckon she could get right down 44 secs or better but i would shudder if 800m would be the furthest she'd go I reckon she could probably take the W 800m world record apart if she stepped up in distance.

The oldest Individual world record on the track for women is Kratochilova's 800m set in Munich in 1983 which stands at 1:53.28 and the 400m W WR is still held by the East German Marita Koch at 47.60 which was set in the Athletics World Cup in Canberra in 1985. McLoughlin could get close to that if she did the 400m flat. Koch ran the first 200 in a blistering 22.4 sec.
For the men the oldest individual track record left still standing is Kenya's Daniel Komen's 300m record set in 1998.

Relay wise the old Soviet Union still have the women's 4x 400m record from Seoul in 1988 which is 3:15.17 while the mens 4x 400 still stands to the USA at 2:54.29 set in 1993. sprint relays are held by Jamaica (Men) set in London 2012 at 36.84 and the women's 4x 100 by the USA was also set in London 2012 at 40.82. I think we could see some Commonwealth & British records tumble in Birmingham.

Men won 4x 100m bronze while Asher Smith was injured in w 4x100 final, just hope it is not serious and has ended her season.

RE: Athletics - Tractor boy - 27-07-2022 10:34

Dina Asher Smith has announced she is pulling out of the Commonwealth games because of injury.

Gold for Keely Hodgkinson at last.
European 800m champion after two silver medal finishes in the World Championships and Commonwealth Games.
So pleased for her.
Well done Keely Smile.

RE: Athletics - Tractor boy - 06-03-2023 11:25

Keely Hodgkinson is a phenomenal talent, she added the European indoor 800m title yesterday to her ever growing list of titles, and she only turned 21 last week.

RE: Athletics - Snooks - 06-03-2023 19:57

Her outdoor battles with Athing Mu will continue to be gripping viewing I'm sure.
A global outdoor title is what Keely is after.

Mu stands in the way.
A formidable opponent but Keely is getting stronger and faster. Watch out World Championships in Budapest later this year.

RE: Athletics - Snooks - 13-06-2023 20:09

Keely's run last Friday night in the Paris Diamond League meeting was exceptional. A new PB and national record with I suspect lots more to come in the coming weeks.
Her prospects for this season look stronger than ever if she can avoid injury. All roads lead to Budapest for the World Championships.

RE: Athletics - lovebabes56 - 14-06-2023 08:49

That was stunning by Keely if some of our athletes can get new PB's or a NR in the coming weeks they will be a big boost for confidence. Hoping Dina will be fit in time.
