I only have praise for Jamie Carragher. What a fantastic servant he's been to Liverpool Football Club. His glittering achievements are justly deserved for tremendous loyalty to his club and he's definitely a hall of famer in the modern era. I hope Liverpool offer him a permanent role within the coaching setup and either way, he'll always have a special place in Reds fans hearts.

As a football fan, I would just like to say that Jamie Carragher, you deserve all the accolades that no doubt that will come your way. A true, honest, most loyal professional footballer you could get. I really do hope you can finish on a high by at least lifting the UEFA Europa cup at the end of the season.

I've always been a big fan of Carragher despite a slight dip in form in the last year or so, but in the last couple of games, he's been very good. As said previously by someone else I think I would go as far to say he's one of the best centre backs of the Premier League era not to win a league title.

Anyway although I'm not a fan of Liverpool, I'm going to miss Carragher. A great honest pro that was always committed to the cause. He sounds like such a nice guy and is someone young and aspiring footballers should look up to. Hopefully Carragher doesn't disappear from the game and goes into management or perhaps become a pundit for Sky Sports or Match of the Day.

It would be actually nice to see Liverpool win the Europa League this season just as a nice farewell present to Carragher.

The trophy ceremony at the European Cup final epitomises Carra for me, when he could barely stand, that sums him up in every sense. Determination, dedication, pride, passion, warrior, Liverpool.

I couldn't find a pic of him on the podium, but these say just as much.

RE: Liverpool FC - The Truth - 07-02-2013 22:13

In the world of sport the word 'Legend' is banded about far to freely and on most occasions, unjustly, but in the case of Carra,he truly is an Anfield 'LEGEND'
A leader amongst men and the consummate professional,on & off the pitch,he is what every young footballer should aspire to be.
I know It's sad news the announcement of Jamie's impending retirement, but on a selfish level for me,I'm glad he decided to retire rather than wear the colours of another club.
Truly a great man,I'm sure he can go on to be a top Coach/Manager,he has all the tools to do so, Passion/Determination/The Will To Win & A Never Say Die attitude.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Jamie for all his great service to Liverpool FC,and wish him all the best in his future endeavours, hopefully at Liverpool.

Thanks Jamie Lad,You Truly Are A Legend.

RE: Liverpool FC - Master Yoda - 08-02-2013 10:08

Absolutely gutted that Carra has decided he has reached the end of the road. The word 'legend' is overused in football these days but in Jamie's case 'legend' is the perfect description. He has been a model professional both on and off the pitch. On the pitch he is a leader, determined, fair, always gives 100%, heart of a lion, never goes missing, literally bled for Liverpool FC, and was a f**king brilliant defender. Off the pitch he is a model professional. Quiet, unassuming, never in the headlines for the wrong reasons and has got involved in charity work with his 23 Foundation. I had the pleasure of meeting him one midweek evening in 2008 in his Café Sports England Restaurant in Liverpool and he took the time to have a brief chat with me and my mate about where in Ireland we came from and if we were happy with how the team was performing (at the time in late 2008 we were unbeaten and top of the PL!!). Great guy, he didn't need to do that.

Jamie joined the club as a 9 year old, came up through the academy and YTS set up, played for the reserves, broke into the first team and stayed in the first team set up for 16 years and will retire on his own call. A fantastic achievement- a true football man, a true one club man and in any era an absolute genuine Liverpool Legend.

Thank you for the blood sweat and tears Jamie and thank you for the memories.

You'll Never Walk Alone.
