Not quite true, as the shark doesn't have a womb because the hatchlings (pups) are aplacental. Also the mother shark will "give birth to" (eject) between 10 and 80 live year old pups. Also the juvenile shark pups are predated on by adult tiger sharks - including the mother shark who has just given birth to them!

(guess who did a course on marine biology?)
