Everyone may have an opinion but some of the comments on players on here are just one sided, football is not FIFA 13!!!

Rodgers said we looked solid at the back and was almost a perfect away performance.... hes got to be joking or stupid...
r u joking? why wud he say it was almost a perfect away performance if u lose 2-0? i thought u played well like u hav dun in previous games what i watched on tv, arsenal, man city and west brom, but ur just not putting ur chances away.

RE: Liverpool FC - Fernandez Esperenda - 14-02-2013 23:13

I know football is not fifa 13 but when rodgers said it was an almost perfect away performance and we looked solid at the back, im sorry but he must have lost the plot, It was terrible we were full of errors at the back, risky misplaced passes across the back, Playing joe allen in and around a player like hulk and leaving lucas on the bench?... He needs to wake up and realise he's managing liverpool not some small time club, and most of all cut the bullshit he comes out with after every loss, im not buying it anymore....

We are not barca we dont have xavi, iniesta, busquets, jordi alba, we have allen, henderson, enrique and downing, when you have players like that you dont try and copy barcas style on a terrible pitch away from home in the knockout rounds of a european tournament..

Didn't Rodgers after the West Brom defeat say, we have been playing really well recently, but they haven't won a game in about five matches. I'm not a Liverpool fan, but it seems the Liverpool job is getting a bit too big for Rodgers, suffer defeat in the Europa League over 2 legs, and keep struggling in the league, he will be gone soon.

Travelling to Zenit and losing is not a big deal though, they have quality players, like Hulk who scored, Danny, Witsel and load of decent Russians.

Liverpool seemed to be playing better with Sturridge in the side, they might improve when he's back in the team.

We should never have got rid of benitez, since rafa left it's been downhill, it's not getting any better, if things carry on as they are i cant see suarez hanging around much longer either, he deserves to be playing champions league football, not playing in a mid table team, which we have now become...

Is right.

Bunch of horrible wankers some of those Russians. A lad i went to school with got a pasting after the game. Russian mobs wearing bullet proof vests, balaclavas and mma gloves all tooled up are the reports i've heard. Some of our fans have had a nightmare over there.

We'll destroy that shower of overrated shite at Anfield next week.

Hope so. A mate got a serious beatin in moscow a few yrs ago for an ireland russia match for the serious infraction of sittin on a wall. No go for the matchs from what ive heard.

RE: Liverpool FC - mitchell - 15-02-2013 21:06

This is a very hard job here at Liverpool, a job which no manager has been able to sort out league wise for over 23 years. Brendan Rogers is a good young manager in his first season at this level, who knows how he'll do next season, but I do know he'll take a very hard look at how we played in a variation of games & the opposition we played to see where he takes it from here.
Hopefully we'll change to a more direct passing style i.e. always looking to play forward as the first option.

Yeah over the next season or so Andy Carroll & maybe Stewart Downing & Fabio Borini could leave, but to keep coming out with the same shit is just dumb!!!

Xavi this iniesta that. We should buy David Villa etc etc. Seriously get real will you, what team sells 5 players in one summer to replace them with 5 more.... Not gonna happen.

Our squads decent we just need help up top & a forward thinking midfielder hopefully with a bit of pace to go with a more decisive set of attacking tactics.

Brendan's the right man, said it from day one.

Exactly.

I said a few posts back he'd have learnt a lot this season. Mainly about who has the mentality the mind set to play for Liverpool and who doesnt. He knows he needs winners. Players that hate to lose at anything. You can see that in the signings he's made for me. Joe Allen and Fabio Borini have had pretty slow starts at Liverpool but the one thing you can see in the pair of them is determination and fire in the belly. The quality we seen from Allen at the start of the season will come back and hopefully Borini can start banging a few in. Daniel Sturridge is a great character I think. He's confident, believes in his ability and has that fire and spark about him. Same goes for young Coutinho. He's Brazillian. Probably has the heart of a lion the kid and the belief inside that he can become the best. That's a good sign in my book, shows Rodgers knows the type of characters were gonna need for the fight we've got on.

The thing that's cost us dearly this season is the countless lapses of concentration during games. It's all in the head. How many times have we been cruising in games the BANG! We concede a goal. BANG! We concede another. All the good work undone... I could sit here and write all night about it.

* City at Anfield, we were super. 2-1 up, lapse of concentration, goal, we draw 2-2.
* Utd at Anfield, bossing the game with 10 men, we go 1-0 up, we lose 2-1.
* Across the park, Suarez at the double, take that golum. Lapse from the keeper, goal, followed by a lapse from young Wisdom, we draw 2-2.
* Stamford Bridge, Agger gets caught sleeping at a corner, loses Terry, goal. Cost us 3 points. We drew 1-1.
* United away, more lapses in concentration leaving us staring up a mountain we very nearly climbed.
* Emirates, 2-0 up with 20 mins left, we draw 2-2.
* City away more silly lapses in concentration when we had dominated the full game. We draw 2-2.

Add up the points we threw away from those matches. We should've took 11 more points from those games than what we actually did. Add to that the games we didn't win because of poor finishing... Stoke at Home, Newcastle Home, Swansea Away, West Brom the other day... We should've taken 9 more points from those games than we actually took. I make that 20 points more we could have had this season if were switched on a bit more and were more clinical in 3 or 4 games.

Add 20 points to our total just now and we'd sit second. 9 points off the pace with 12 games left.

Any fan of any team could do what I've just done and say they could be much higher up the table but I'm just trying to make the point that with 3 or 4 more additions of the right type of player, with the proper mentality and say a year down the line with young lads like Sterling, Coutinho, Henderson, Allen, Kelly, Wisdom, Shelvey and Suso all having developed a bit more and learned the game and their roles a bit more....

We might not be too far away.
