You are fully entitled to think its all absolute bollocks....but did you watch it to make such an informed opinion? If so, then then the viewing figures will be further enhanced for the BBC. If not, then you obviously would not know it was bollocks ![]() RE: Top Gear - Proj - 30-12-2014 15:43 He's in bother again: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2889795/Jeremy-Clarkson-hot-water-Gear-Christmas-special-pokes-fun-racist-slope-slur-presenter-praises-lovely-country-Chile.html RE: Top Gear - Tumble_Drier - 30-12-2014 17:18 The Daily Mail? Who gives a shit? RE: Top Gear - Rammyrascal - 30-12-2014 18:54 yet another daily mail article bashing both bbc and Jeremy Clarkson. bet they are both laughing at this RE: Top Gear - Proj - 31-12-2014 03:01 it seems a "Grasping at straws" argument for an article.. I'm betting no one actually mad e a point of saying he made a racial slur RE: Top Gear - bytor - 31-12-2014 15:40 (31-12-2014 03:01 )Proj Wrote: it seems a "Grasping at straws" argument for an article.. Rather ironic that they try to whip up an imaginary racist slur on Clarkson while probably being the most intolerant and anti-immigration newspaper in the UK ![]() RE: Top Gear - Doddle - 03-01-2015 13:48 Finally finished watching this (just ahead of tonight's repeat). I agree that it was lucky that the Argentinians lost the plot and saved us from yet another boring car football match. Those things always suck. Breath-taking scenery aside, the problem with these specials is they need a really good narrative. The Vietnam & NileQuest ones worked. The India & Burma ones didn't. As for Clarkson supporting Chile, did the Mail not bother to include the magic word Pinochet, or had my eyes glazed over its mention? RE: Top Gear - biggles - 07-01-2015 16:08 Can't see why that needed 2 programmes, could easily have been edited into 1. I've never been to Argentina or Chile but I'm pretty sure it will have decent roads and not require people to drive through fields and rock slides to get to major cities. So it retrospect was Car-Reg Gate an accident or were they really trying to be too clever? RE: Top Gear - The Silent Majority - 11-01-2015 21:38 I did enjoy the show, but it wasn't up to the standard of some of the previous ones. I thought the mid-way car modifications were a bit lackluster, which probably restricted the potential for comedy moments. Maybe they decided to tone it down a bit and keep a lower profile once they realised things were likely to kick off. And, apart from Hammond's Mustang, the choice of cars was just stretching credibility too far during some of the off-road stuff. I think it would been better if they'd got another couple of big American cars, and made that the theme. Fair play to James May though, for carrying on with cracked ribs. It must have been pretty painfull, driving on those roads. If all they wanted to do was antagonise a bunch of foreigners in their own country, they could've come up here in September with Union Jacks all over the cars. It would've been much cheaper ![]() RE: Top Gear - biggles - 12-01-2015 17:23 Watched the Botswana one again recently and you couldn't tell the difference between that and this last one - same sh!t different car & country. I even managed to get JC's last words when the VW came round the corner at the end - "But I wasn't driving it." OK fair play they have found a formula that works and has made them pots of money but Top Gear could be so much more of a programme then it is. |
