Sweden's Anna Nordqvist landed her 3rd Major when she won the Women's Open from Carnoustie, the 5th & final major of the year. The form of the European's is encouraging ahead on the Solheim Cup in September, with 4 of the top 5 players will feature in this years event.
Scotland's Louise Duncan won the amateur title, finished tied for 10th overall, she will be competing in the Curtis Cup this week.

GB & Ireland had an impressive 1st day at last weeks Curtis Cup, with a 4.5-1.5 lead. USA levelled it up after the 2nd day at 6-6, before they came out on top in the singles with GB & Ireland gaining 1.5 points from the 8 matches, to take the 41st Curtis Cup by a USA 12.5 - 7.5 GB & Ireland margin.

On day 2, the USA stage a fightback, winning the foursomes 3 -1 & now only trail Europe by 1 point. USA 5.5 - 6.5 Europe. Early stages in the afternoon fourballs, with USA up in 3 of the 4 matches.
