Woke up to snow in the East Riding of Yorkshire, nothing significant. The wind is dragging the temperature down below freezing. Some respite over the weekend with the mercury rising back into double digits.

Virtually gone here already. It's not what you would call warm, but the flurries have stopped, and it's melting rapidly.
Just as well, I usually find the day after snow is worse. The snow gets compacted down underfoot and uneven, then melts slightly, then freezes overnight, so it becomes rutted and slippery next day. Round my way especially, the roads and pavements are sheltered from the sun (such as it is) most of the day, so it takes way longer to melt it away. You tippy-toe along taking baby steps, and still mange to slip and slide every which way
When I was cycling to work, I'd typically have to walk several streets away before being able to get going!

Snow is continuing in Aberdeen & isnt melting due to lack of sun hrs, i live on a quiet street & our shitty council don't even bother with them, only the really busy ones. As Munch pointed out it will get compacted & slippy & probably be around for the rest of the week at least
A colleague of mine from Hungary says that over there each person is responsible for the path outside their property and has to clear it.
Sounds like a reasonable idea but you could imagine the uproar, Tim Stanley in The Telegraph would call it the woke blob imposing itself on our civil liberties. Meanwhile in The Guardian Adita Chakrabortty would write a column about how poor people can't afford a £10 plastic shovel from B&M and call for a universal shovel programme funded by a wealth tax

Probably will be more like sleet than snow than anything herev I'm expecting, but I don't think it will make the odds of a White Chriistmas any more

Another white morning here, but just frost today. Feels much colder than yesterday, but looks brighter, even some very small patches of blue sky about.
I was planning on heading to town today, but feeling how cold it was when I got up, I soon decided it can wait until next week

Very light dusting of snow here but it's bloody cold. I went out in the car at 4pm last night and it was -2C. Looks like it should be milder for the weekend.

Been out for a 5 mile walk this morning. Somewhat bracing at -1 when I set off but I love a cold frosty morning walk in the country. Lots of pheasants around and a couple of deer and whilst cold and I had to dodge a few icy patches on country lanes it was an absolute joy

As freezing cold as it is and for all the difficulty travelling to work by bus on snowy roads as per the last two mornings I will take this weather over sweating my bollocks off any time. Heatwaves can fuck off.
