RE: UFC - Jack the Nipper - 06-07-2018 16:30

Some good fights on the Ultimate Fighter Finale on later tonight with 2 final matches at different weights; Michael Trizano vs Joe Giannetti & Ireland's Jay Cuccinello vs Brad Katona, the very pretty Rachael Ostovich features on the undercard.

In the early hours of Sunday morning the team captain's on this seasons Ultimate Fighter Stipe Miocic defends his Heavyweight title against Light Heavyweight Champ Danel Cormier on UFC 226 with Francis Ngannou fighting Derrick 'The Black Beast' Lewis on the undercard.

I think I'll put a few sheckles on Miocic & Ngannou adding to their win records.

RE: UFC - Jack the Nipper - 08-07-2018 16:50

UFC 226 was a mixed bag for me with the Ngannou vs Lewis fight being an absolute stinker even though both being regarded among the hardest hitters in the Heavyweight division. Both fought like fighters who were scared to get hit (gunshy) particularly Ngannou who had been built up as one of the scariest guys in the division (due to his knockout record) prior to his title loss to Miocic but now seems to have morphed into Audley Harrison with Lewis getting the nod on a points decision from the judges (everyone else fell asleep).Paul Felder & Mike Perry fought in an epic bloodbath match with Felder fighting for over 10 minutes with a suspected broken hand/arm.

Big props to Daniel Cormier (despite a clear size difference) knocking out Miocic with a sweet short right-hook out of the clinch near the end of the 1st round to become joint holder of the Heavyweight & Light-Heavyweight UFC titles.WWE fan Cormier immediately called out Brock Lesnar from ringside where they engaged in a shoving & shouting insults at each other match.

Cormier has clearly stated on numerous times that he wants to retire before his 40th birthday (which is in March next year) so he only has 1-2 fights left & so the big payday for him is a match with Lesnar. With Lesnar's drug ban & rigorous testing regime wouldn't make him available to fight until end of this year, early next year.
As intriguing fight as it is between Lesnar & Cormier both having stellar amateur wrestling backgrounds it's kind of unfair that Lesnar should leapfrog the top 10 ranked Heavyweights & jump into a title match.

Darren has earned a shot at Tyron Woodley Woodley is no mug, but just hope Daren will be aggre4ssive enough to take him out

RE: UFC - Jack the Nipper - 26-07-2018 00:35

Tyrone Woodley is an elite level wrestler & heavily relied on his wrestling skills in the 2 fights he had with Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson & so Darren Till will have to make sure his takedown defence is on point.Woodley is also a big puncher but with his heavily muscled frame previous fights have showed he does have stamina issues (particularly in the championship rounds).I'd make Till the slight favourite in the fight.

RE: UFC - lovebabes56 - 26-07-2018 06:50

Darren only has an inch height advantage but they are evenly matched stats wise but Darren has to be slight favourite -If the fight goes full distance - but he has be aggressive and animated throughout, he can't afford Woodley to dictate the pace or dominate him.

I agree it is kind of unfair to see Lesnar leapfrog guy who have been working their socks off this year to get a shot at the title. IF anything once Lesnar's ban ends, Dana should make it clear to him that he has to show Dana that he should earn a shot at him, i think it is an intriguing fight too but I think Cormier might live to regret calling him out. I'm not a Lesnar fan but I think it will be quite clash

RE: UFC - Jack the Nipper - 04-08-2018 00:04

2 Cracking title rematches on in the early hours sunday morning at UFC 227 with TJ Dillashaw defending his Bantamweight title in a rematch with Cody Garbrandt & Demetrius Johnson defending his Flyweight title in a repeat or revenge match against Olympic medalist Henry Cejudo.

UFC have also confirmed that Khabib Nurmagomedov will be defending the Lightweight title against Conor McGregor at UFC 229 on the 6th Oct.

RE: UFC - Ducky - 04-08-2018 04:37

Connor should have been fired.
It really bothers me that he wasn't.

RE: UFC - lovebabes56 - 04-08-2018 09:17

Dana should have made a more of an example of McGregor

Why he never stripped him off the title when he fought Mayweather is beyond me, but could Khabib give McGregor the test he's looking for, or would Connor make mincemeat out of him?
