HTTP Error 504: Gateway Timeout
The server, while acting as a gateway or proxy, did not receive a timely response from the upstream server it accessed in attempting to complete the request.

Well I just had a wierd one whilst I was going to post the third installment in Harley Dean's Caps & Videos thread. I got this at the end of the post as I was opening the thread.

But the time in the error refers to the time I made the previous post yesterday. It's got me baffled as to what's going on with that one. It corrected itself on doing a refresh of the page. But that's the first time I've had anything like that show up.

I'm assuming it has to do with the buttons that show up at the bottom of every post. As the page didn't completely load after it.

if it happens 1s you can put it down to a bad connection between u and the server but if its constant then the server has issues.

Kept getting this around 7:25am this morning, whilst trying to post on the BS Review thread.

Spoiler: Show

Trying to go to any page on the forum just kept timing out; Loading other sites worked fine. Suddenly went ok again around 7:33am.

Pretty sure this has happened a few times in the last few weeks, around the same time in the morning.

I'm having the same problems as JamDaMan. I keep getting 503 or 500 errors, and it nearly always seems to be around this time of the morning. If it happens, then often I need to close the window and reopen it. It's particularly annoying when I'm trying to post caps annoyed

I used to get annoyed myself when that happened to me several times. Rolleyes Now I get around the problem by having notepad open, so I copy and paste the text of the post into it before previewing or posting. Big Grin At least that way, if it screws up, all you have to do is copy and paste it back. Wink

I do that too Smile But it's still irritating when it happens, especially as sometimes the post gets through, and sometimes it doesn't.

Why does the system often go down at 7:30am.
Is this a maintence issue.
