RE: UFC - Don Tingley - 02-06-2019 15:04 can't wait for ferguson v cerrone next weekend, never a boring fight with those two. don't want either of them to lose but a good turn out would be ferguson to win and khabib to beat poirier later this year and then khabib v ferguson, that fight has to happen it'd be criminal for them to never fight it's been booked a few times before and always fallen through RE: UFC - Bandwagon - 02-06-2019 15:55 Ferguson vs Cerrone will be a good fight. I usually like to pick who I want to win before the fight but between these two I can't because I like them both. But if I had to make a bet I think I'd have to side with Ferguson. Only slightly though because you can never count Cerrone out and he's proven that again just recently. The main event between Cejudo and Moraes should be good also and I'll be looking for Cejudo to win. Brutal KO of Jimi Manuwa yesterday in Sweden. RE: UFC - Don Tingley - 02-06-2019 19:54 got a lot of time for cejudo now since beating a juicy dillashaw. imagine if dillashaw won that fight. he would have ended an entire division all for his own pleasure, putting fighters out of a job, whilst on the roids! what a dick. sad seeing what's becoming of manuwa, he seems a good guy and always brings it win or lose. his record is amazing, 23 fights and only 2 have ended in a decision, he's great from a neutral fan's point of view. strange fight for ferguson to take as he's nothing to gain from it, only cerrone can gain from this. if tony loses then he's out of the title picture, gotta respect him taking the fight though, he must be pretty confident he'll win. big risk for him RE: UFC - Bandwagon - 03-06-2019 13:41 It is a big risk for Ferguson because Cerrone seems to be fighting with a second wind. I'm fairly confident Iaquinta thought he would steamroll straight through Cerrone but that didn't happen and he looked absolutely lost towards the end of the fight. I bet most didn't see that coming? Ferguson is a tougher challenge though, he is way more tactical than Iaquinta and if he wins we may yet get to see him face Khabib. But it has been rumoured of a Khabib vs Poirier at UFC 242 in September. RE: UFC - Don Tingley - 04-06-2019 17:43 khabib/poirier is now official and manuwa retires. one step closer hopefully to khabib/ferguson, if they both win then the ufc just can't justify not booking it RE: UFC - Bandwagon - 09-06-2019 15:52 Well it was an unlucky end to the fight for Cerrone and not the type of ending we all wanted to see. But I still believe Ferguson would have ground him down eventually although Cerrone can dig deep but would it have been enough? Perhaps with such a shitty outcome we will get a rematch? As for the main event I couldn't be happier for Cejudo. He took some shit in the first round and let Moraes gas himself before moving into range and laying some heat of his own to force a convincing stoppage. RE: UFC - Don Tingley - 09-06-2019 18:18 loads of people were complaining the ferguson/cerrone fight wasn't 5 rounds but it's fairly rare either of them see the end of a 3 round fight. cheap shot by ferguson, out of character that, was surprised he did it. was clearly intentional. it was the same as the pettis fight, steady first, then tony dominated and it's stopped at the end of the 2nd. shame poirier is getting the title shot before tony, khabib and ferguson are in their primes and should be fighting now before it's too late. i don't want to see ferguson v poirier if poirier beats khabib which would be surprising especially since mcgregor battered poirier, i'd rather see ferguson v mcgregor. crazy knockout by shevchenko, nearly took her head off lol RE: UFC - Bandwagon - 11-06-2019 09:41 Yes I agree, I can't see Poirier beating Khabib and it's the Ferguson vs Khabib that strikes the greater interest. Perhaps the Poirier fight has been offered as a warm-up for Khabib since he hasn't fought in the UFC since October. So obviously Khabib is supposed to win and it would be hilarious if he didn't. I doubt that will happen though. Yes the Shevchenko head kick was superb and well set-up. Classic stuff attacking the body to drop the high guard and then a head strike, bingo. A proper leg twitching KO too, she was sparko RE: UFC - lovebabes56 - 04-07-2019 18:11 Khabib Nurmagomedov has admitted that he is 'somewhere near the end' of his career. The undefeated Russian will defend his lightweight title in Abu Dhabi this September against Dustin Poirier but has admitted that he may not have many more fights left in him. It would be a blow to Conor McGregor seeking aa rematch. For me Khabib to be in deserves to be in the top ten pound for pound UFC Rankings and his clash with Poirier would be one to savour since 'The Diamond' has posted 24 wins from 2 fight with 13 by way of knockout & 6 by way of submission meaning Poirier could have the ability to send Khabib into retirement early. RE: UFC - Don Tingley - 04-07-2019 19:58 He has been saying similar for a couple of years. He almost retired in 2015 after a rib injury meant he had to pull out of a fight against ferguson at the TUF 22 final but he said in later interviews that his dad convinced him to keep going and try win the belt instead of retiring. He has had a fair few injuries and struggled making weight for years but that seems to be a non issue now. Anything could happen, obviously, but i can't see poirier beating him, i don't even think it will be close, i can see it as business as usual for khabib and then he fights ferguson and retires afterwards unless GSP agrees to fight him, which he won't. I think he has 2 fights left, would be a shame but you can kinda see his point, he will have achieved what he wanted to and made his money. He has only lost one round in his professional career, that was against mcgregor. He has to go down as one of the greatest ever no matter what happens now. |
