I liked the angle that he was 44, and Reardon's last title when he was 45. Difference being Ronnie still looks healthy, Reardon looked ancient even in his youth!

I didn't catch any of it.
In the evening I wondered how they were getting on and was disappointed to be offered another chance to see The Apprentice or whatever.
There was a time when 25 million people would be watching snooker at two o'clock in the morning.

The age thing's an interesting one. When colour television ushered in snooker I recall players were middle aged but Davis, Hendry, White etc were boys. One by one they've retired and I remember reference being made to their problems with the long game.
Whilst there's lots of youngsters now someone mentioned the Class of 92 the other day. I think it might have been O'Sullivan himself and he meant people like John Higgins and Peter Ebdon. So Why
I wonder if it's to do with laser eye surgery. None of them wear glasses, have they had help to ensure they can still pot the long balls?

Turning to the matter of Sports Personality Of The Year. There was a time that I could take a mild interest in it but it's a major turn off now. Not only is it another example of an advertisement for the BBC dressed up as a television programme but I can't quite equate the term Personality with Sportsmen. TBH I'm not a fan of sport at the best of times but to me they're either winning obsessive's or millionares.
I wouldn't have thought that O'Sullivan would match the BBC's criteria at all. He's unlikely I would think to sign up for Strictly and any opinion he might share on the latest socio-sexual-demographic ideology is likely to be coloured by his desire to win. I can hear him now droning on about his action instead of agreeing that black lives matter. Hamilton's presumably a sexier bet.
