They think they've had bad experiences or been forgotten. I'll tell you some of the shit i've seen or heard in Afghanistan.
1, Huts the size of a bedsit with upto 15 family members in it.
2, People who have lived with war for 30+ years now.
3, Taliban members raping their women and kids.
4, Three of my colleagues blown up by landmines/I.E.Ds.
5, Two other colleagues shot dead at the same time as I got shot in the leg.
Did I go out rioting because I thought society owed me? No, I went out to protect my community from these scumbags. In my eyes, the real cause of these riots (including student fee riots) is the 'Nanny' state we live in. We're too soft when it comes to issues on our own soil. I say the next time it happens, we go in and we go in hard.

Couldn't agree more mate. Total respect to you and your mates in Afghanistan for what you do for us. I may be deaf but I don't feel society owes me anything either. I've been on the dole a couple of time and found it tough getting a job, but I never felt the need to go out and riot. I knuckled down and did something about finding work even though at times it got depressing doing at least when the Government schemes were offered I took them so that I wasn't at home drinking my face off. When it first kicked off I thought the Police would never regain control, yet the way the PM spoke he was trying to take the credit himself and not give the police any. When you swee police forces in other parts of the world, theut down as riot quicker than we do and they go in harder. It's about time our police stuck two fingers up to the loony left do gooders who will moan they were heavy handed and say: - "f**k you we're doing this our way!!"
And while I'm on about why the hell did he felt the need to go abroad, I thought he was all for a holiday in this country?

can see this Eviction thing backfiring spectaculary. if they are the main renter then finego ahead evict them but can see cases of the elderly or disabled being evicted because there scroat of a grandson or ganddaughter or one of the kids is a theivin scumbag.

nice to see mothers in manchester and london are shopping in there own kids but could see it backfire on them if they own council property

nice to see the courts working over night and weekends wish could do it all the time

I bet it won't take long before a wealthy scroat of a human rights lawyer gets involved defending the scumbags.
Whether they were evicted, or getting them off sentences and suing the police - even if they didn't do anyuthing, they'll probably get compo for being arrested or for "riot - related stress!!"
Yet I find the sentences that are being handed out laughable - anyone agree? Why jail someone for 20 weeks, when he/she could get released in half that time? sentencess are supposed[u] to be a deterrent and I think 20 weeks wouldn't change anyone. My maximum would be 2 and half years straight. even if they were rereleased for good behaviour i bet it wouldn't stpoe them from getting involved in the next bg flare - up. Wouldnt even be surrprised if any cases were thrown out for lack of positive evidence!!

Scooter Attack Witnesses's Flat Torched . Yet more disgraceful scenes from the riots last week. This of a man who was attacked on his scooter ! annoyed

I really hope these people die slow and painful deaths annoyed

I think it'ss ridicolus that the sentences handed out don't properly fit the crimes committed. And this is where I fear lawyers wil be involved,(as some no doubt will argue that the sentences handed out to their client are either too harsh or deemed 'against their basic human rights' and so many of those who took part will more than likely walk free in a matter of weeks.

I feel a mandatory 12 -18 months maximum jail sentence should have been imposed on all cases with community work thrown in for good measure (and not benefits), or failing they should be sent to the Sheriff with the toughest reputation in the world!!

That'll teach them the errors of their ways!!

RE: UK Riots - Money_Shot - 18-08-2011 10:59

I agree, the sentences don't seem enough, and like you say I bet the majority will walk free anyway.

Just makes me sick the way these people act in such a disgusting way yet they will end up getting away with it.

People will want such and such punishment handed out to this scum, but in reality it will be nothing like what we want and they will win again.

i'm sure i read somewhere in the press that did the police say it could take two years to track down everyone who was involved?
