RE: Scottish Football - dan g 27 - 19-09-2012 20:49 Despite a 0-0 draw tonight for Celtic, its a decent point particularly when they play Benfica, who are no push overs by any means. Its important for Scottish football that Celtic do well in Europe RE: Scottish Football - Sm© - 19-09-2012 21:02 Benfica were there for the taking tonight, pity Celtic were piss poor. Samaras would have run riot if he had been fit. Could have been worse. at least we didn't get pumped out of the diddy cup by Queen of the south RE: Scottish Football - K.HarperSe7en - 20-09-2012 18:17 Great to see the Hibees knuckling down and starting to win some games. Last season was a real struggle, the team looks a lot more resillient and very pleased with Fenlons signings. Hopefully things are looking up RE: Scottish Football - Scottishbloke - 20-09-2012 18:26 Watching Celtic last night you couldn't help but think if only they still had a Henrik Larsson figure still at the club they might have just about edged it last night against Benfica. Nonetheless I thought Celtic were a credit to Scotland despite a few hairy moments. PS - I'm as shocked as anybody with regards to the form Hib's are in at the moment, you can't really grudge them any happiness after the truly miserable recent years the fans have had to endure and that's coming from a Dundee United supporter too RE: Scottish Football - dan g 27 - 20-09-2012 18:33 I agree SB. Gary Hooper may be good scoring goals for Celtic in the SPL, but they need to invest some cash in someone with a bit more quality and has experience of European football. Samaras in my opinion is the only real top quality forward for Celtic, who can be a big player in the goals department in European. Perhaps Celtic should also sale Stokes to build up cash for another striker RE: Scottish Football - Doddle - 22-09-2012 21:12 (19-09-2012 21:02 )Sm© Wrote: at least we didn't get pumped out of the diddy cup by Queen of the southThat was pretty funny East Stirlingshire 3 Clyde 0 Back-to-back wins! Wins away in Finland and Sweden against average opposition aside, we all know what your mob are like away from home in Europe Forget about the qualifiers, now the fun starts RE: Scottish Football - Doddle - 27-09-2012 14:32 Rangers beat Motherwell in Yet Another Cup So much for being the League leaders, then... RE: Scottish Football - K.HarperSe7en - 27-09-2012 20:34 The way the Scottish Media is going on about The Rangers win last night, you'd have thought they just beat Barcelona. Ally McCoist overcome with joy as his team shows that they can compete at the top level in the Scottish game. Aye, no shit sherlock. Dean Shiels, Sandaza, Lee Wallace, Lee McCuloch, Ian Black, Templeton. It's a shock that these players can compete at the top level right enough. The real shock is that they're struggling to beat 3rd division part timers like Annan Athletic and Berwick. Yet not a lot seems to get made of these matches. The Scottish media love in with The Rangers (1 and 2) and Celtic is disgusting. RE: Scottish Football - Scottishbloke - 28-09-2012 17:37 The Scottish media have allways been biased towards the west coast teams and what annoys me is if Celtic or Rangers don't get all 3 points then the media allways refers to it as 2 points dropped. This to me shows total disrespect to the opposition. Also if a team scores against either side of the old firm then it's bad defending by them and if it's the other way around, then it's a brilliant goal. One of the main reason's I've stopped buying papers as much as I used to up here is I have no time for biased and one sided journalists. A couple of years ago for example just how much credit was given to Ross County for putting Celtic out of the Semi-finals of the Scottish cup, none. It was all about how bad Celtic were and how it was an absolute crisis for them. I mean how dare they have a trophy barren season. Perish the thought At the end of the day the opposition are only as good as you let them be, Ross County on that day got the tactics spot on and the papers should have been full of praise instead for them. Incidentally 2010 was also the last time my Dundee United team won the Scottish cup |
