The women I spoke to asked to name which sites or just one of them to which my answer to her was mind your own fucking business, she told me that it was a server issue and apologised to me before going through a set of procedures in order to deactivate the filters once again.

I suspect something sinister in all of this as I bet I wasn't the only one that got hit with this notice so I'd imagine more than me had to make the dreaded phonecall. I wonder if this is only the start and a sign of things to come.
You are lucky, I had to go through this procedure once face to face with a young woman who was rather attractive.eek
Was it taking place in a pub?

Try these and then make your mind up. I've heard that hotspot shield is quite good for a free VPN. Personally I would pay for one because you get faster speeds and more extras thrown in.

^above are 2 google searches one for free VPN and the other for just VPN.

what does a VPN offer compared to antivirus or is it a totally different thing? sorry for being dumb!! Tongue

RE: Porn Filters - terence - 28-05-2015 15:05

it's a different thing mate. a vpn is a way of extending your private network to a public one.

Fire up the laptop and open the browser.
One of the tabs is myfreecams, which won't load.
Clear the cache and try again, mfc still won't load.
Close the tab, clear cache, restart browser, still mfc won't load.
Try a different browser, same thing.

A sudden thought, I had this a while back ...
Start my vpn, reload the tab, and up comes mfc, first time!

So, is this just a blip of some sort, the porn blocker 'leaking' into unblocked connections, or a sign of something in the works?

(I'm on talktalk BTW)

The porn blocker doesn't work that way. Rather than causing pages not to load, it supplies you with a substitute page from Talktalk saying that the site you're trying to visit has been blocked by the HomeSafe filter.

In other words, the porn blocker won't block you from visiting a site without making it clear to you that you've been blocked from visiting it and explaining what you can do to unblock yourself (change your settings).

Wrong - That doesn't work, tried it. No you need to phone up your supplier and they then have to send a special signal to your broadband router.

Changing your settings when presented with a message like this doesn't work.

It works for me. I tried it before making my post above.
