Does this mean we can blame Dubya?

@watcher im suprised you didnt figure it was still in texas. reading the hops would tell you it goes to the west midlands to new york then across america to texas. if it wasn't the ping to the server would be about 45ms max instead of 170ms max. on a good day.

Since the forum is British, I assumed a server in Britain would be used. Never knew it was ever in Texas. Not surprised it runs slow at times now.
I know that the internet splits up data into separate packets and sends them via different routes to reach their final destination where they get re-assembled back together. I always thought it strange that the USA was included in any of the routes.

yeah your getting multiple timeouts, theres a net problem in your general area.
you will find a lot of sites you visit will be slow...
the closer to the top of the list your getting timeouts the slower more websites will be.

Well certain threads you can get into without any trouble at all. But others are just impossible to get in at times.

Take this one at present: http://www.babeshows.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=20322&action=lastpost it took me 10 minutes before my browser accessed it. bladewave And yet this thread was accessed instantly. Big Grin

Trace complete.

As you can see, nothing untoward there. Just a slight jump when crossing the pond.

Could it be the amount of people trying to access the same post at the same time that is slowing connection to certain threads?

RE: Slow Board & "MyBB SQL Errors" - eagle_si - 26-05-2011 10:47

I've just tried to post a set of caps of Cara Brett, and the page waited for almost five minutes before it timed out. In the middle of the day? Huh Now I've got to go back and try again. Not pleased at all.

RE: Slow Board & "MyBB SQL Errors" - admin. - 26-05-2011 11:07

If you get a timeout it's useful to run a tracert command in order to find out exactly where the timeout was.
