Trying to watch Stoke v Leeds yesterday must've been a bit of a nightmare for the fans

Decided to pop out to the Supermarket a bit earlier and re-stock for New Year rather than brave the Zombie Apocalypse again at the weekend. It's effing freezing out there! I'd rather have 6 inches of snow on the ground than the miserable bloody fog we've got.

Got off fairly lightly with the snow here so far. It's largely turned to mush with a load of ensuing rain.

I drove my Nephew and his wife to Manchester Airport earlier as they're off to New York tomorrow. The journey down was bloody awful once we got past Wetherby services. The clouds on the horizon looked particularly unfriendly and sure enough, the M62 around Saddleworth Moor was a nightmare with heavy snow and the usual displays of moronic driving between Leeds & Manchester. The return journey was a lot more pleasant once I was well away from Mancland. Just a couple of snow flurries and much lighter traffic for the most part.
The view of the snow-covered Cleveland Hills on the way down was quite spectacular though, so it wasn't all bad

Snow melted for us by Sunday evening where i am and was 12C Monday. Temp expected to drop next few days but with sunshine which probably means we'd be very unlucky if we got more snow here. I think when you get mushy snow and ice together on the roads that when u get problems. I expect gritters are far busier betweeen Leeds and Mancheester than anywhere else. What walso strange My parents village has on of those speed check monitor things near the bridge you go over to enter the village and it wasn't working I wonder if that would have been a direct consequence of the cold.
