It was all square for the 2 Marks at the interval, but once Allen took the 5th, it became one-way traffic.

Zhao Xintong is still on to be the first Chinaman to win the triple crown after a comfortable 6-2 victory over Gary Wilson.

That makes it a hat-trick of wins for the Chinese so far after Wu Yize and Xiao Guodong's victories.

Kyren always looked too strong for Si, and seems to have rebounded from his distress at the UK Championships.

RE: The Masters - Joannis - 13-01-2026 22:25

John Higgins 6 Hawkins 2 Smile

All 6 matches so far have ended with the same 6-2 scoreline. What are the odds on that?

RE: The Masters - Doddle - 14-01-2026 21:09

Trump won 6-2 as well.

RE: The Masters - Joannis - 15-01-2026 07:14

And Robertson beat Chris Wakelin 6-2. If I had bet on all 8 matches in the 1st round ending 6-2 I would have made a mint!

Quarter final line-up:

John Higgins v Zhao Xintong
Mark Allen v Judd Trump
Wu Yize v Xiao Guodong
Neil Robertson v Kyren Wilson

RE: The Masters - Doddle - 15-01-2026 13:42

I did suspect Wakelin might break that run, but no such luck. Wu probably the long shot, but he got this far, so who knows?

Zhao and John went toe-to-toe up to 3-3. Zhao went 2 up with 3 to play... yup, John prevailed after a back-and-forth finale.
