Can't complain, the opening stand made 307, a first class record for Scarborough, & the last time even a double century stand was achieved by Yorkshire was the Championship winning season in 2014, which also featured Lyth with England discard Lees. His partner today Bean is quietly making a name for himself after he burst on the scene with a record 441 in 2nd XI Cricket. He was in India this winter with the England Lions working on his game against spin, which he put to good effect today with a few lusty blows for 6.Even 3 late wickets late in the day, didn't take the shine off a great performance. Much work to do in this match & the remainder of the season if Yorkshire are to challenge for promotion. It seems unlikely, already weather & bowling injuries have made it tough.

Finally a Championship win, it's been a while. A dominant display throughout baring a little wabble after the huge opening stand, which is often the case.
All wrapped up in 3 days, which will allow me to indulge myself in a neutral game tomorrow which will be a rare treat.

Not the result I wanted, as Sussex beat Leicestershire, but was treated to a ridiculous innings by Louis Kimber, in a little under 3 hours of batting he amasses 243 runs from only 127 balls with 20 fours & 21 sixes. With a target of 464, he arrived at the crease with the score on 144-6, which soon became 175-7.
He then found a partner in Ben Cos (34) as they added 239 for the 8th wicket. As the partnership progressed Leicestershire almost became favourites to win. Still an amazing effort falling 19 runs short. Kimber really deserved to finish on the winning side.

County Championship Records
Kimber scored the fastest double-century in terms of balls faced (100). Most sixes in an innings, 21 beating the 17 from Stokes, & most runs in an over 41 off England's Ollie Robinson.

Jimmy Anderson warms up for his Final Test by taking SEVEN against Nottinghamshire in County Championship. He needs to take eight wickets to Equal Shane Warne Test Victims. After the Test he will become bowling mentor for England.
How England will miss him on the field.
