Another way to force OFCOM's hand is for the mainstream satellite providers of porn to force the industry to go R18 or whatever. However all the time people are happy to shell out on the current content the likes of TAC/TVX etc will happily rerun ten year old shows without pushing the envelope and forcing OFCOM to seriously look at what the paying customer wants. So if you subscribe to the likes of TVX, ask them what they are doing to get the legislation altered and if you aren't happy with the reply cancel your subscription. They suddenly become more interested in your opinion then.

I had to turn over Eastenders the other week, in the part where Christian got beat up - I just couldn't watch it and this was at 8pm time when kids are still up! At least the sex channels are high up the EPG and its after 9pm

Bailey, you are so right, I love you for your intellect. But of course the teachers and social workers who run the Labour party say the scene makes a point about anti-gay violence, so that's OK. It isn't of course, loads of skinheads will have taped the scene and jerk off to a gay bashing. And cage fighting ? How did that ever get on TV ?

It's 100% legal to have sex, but you can't see it on TV. If your wife is prengant, ill, or has low libido, the TV regulators say you just have to let the sexual frustration build up.

It is not legal to murder people (pick any TV drama or soap) or take violent revenge ("Straightheads" on C4 with Gillian Anderson, "No Mercy" on Five with tough guy Richard Gere), but you can see masses of that, and that's just a small sample of tonights TV.

Crazy or what ?

Arkon4 - you are right, the big operators could take OfCom to Court. If they have, they have kept quiet about it. But as long as they have a steady £££ stream they'll do nothing.

I totally agree, there's a lot worse on tv and i don't see ofcom doing anything about that. I can understand why they ment be keen on putting such things on tv because of children, but surely it should the parents that should be controling what there kids can or cannot watch. Better yet a better idea would be to pin protect the babechannels. A long to see the return harder stuff on the channels, i live in hope for its swift return one day.

im wondering what would happen if ofcom changed these limitations then and the girls could get more dirty, how many of the night girls would quit the job?

This poll has now finished. Unsurprisingly, nearly 98% of voters would like to see stronger encrypted broadcasts. Thanks to DanVox for creating the poll and to all who voted.
