The whole purpose of having these free forums is that they are supposed to be FREE just like the programs that they came from. I don't believe this is true. As far as I know anything can be downloaded from RS as long as there is capacity to do so. Edit: I think this is probably the notice you're talking about: Quote:This file can only be downloaded by becoming a Premium member Read ALL of it and note the last sentence. To my knowledge, all uploaders on this forum have ensured that the files they've uploaded to RS are under 200MB so that free users can also download. I've yet to see a file that's over 200MB. RE: Amanda - Caps & Vids - vila - 10-12-2009 22:01 Sorry - yes, you're quite right Skate, I'd forgotten that bit. Although as you say, all uploaders here (and in most other forums) keep the file size down. Some in other forums even go to the trouble of providing both: up to 200MB chunks for free download and a single 200MB+ file for premium users. The big problem with RS at the moment is that it's so popular that at some times of the day it takes ages before a non-premium user can get a download slot. My upload only allows files under 100mb, that's why I have to split them, and yes I'm with RS RE: rapidshare - covlad - 12-01-2010 21:13 rapidshare is doin my head in recently, for the past month everytime i try n download a free file, there are never any free slots i somehow think this is a ploy by rapidshare so that more ppl pay for the premium service which sucks, ppl should deffo use megaupload or depositfiles or something instead n boycott shitty rapidshare... Cracking me up too...sometimes taking several days to download a file broken into 3/4 parts. Appreciate the guys posting want to keep the speeds down as much as pos, but getting to stage where I'd rather have one big file than several parts so there's only one download. Best time for rapidshare seems to be 2am-noon ish which is not a lot of good unless I can get it together before work. Megaupload & Deposit files are much quicker at moment with lower waiting times. Also, I've had a problem a couple of times where by the time I'd downloaded the file, I'd 'lost' the thread it came from, which was only a problem as they needed pw's! one of the threads had since been deleted but a couple of you guys had it - my fault I know but... (advice to self: add the THREAD to favourites and not the rapidshare download page) But overall I'm just grateful for the time you guys put in to share with us: I have freeview, work days and have to sleep (most) nights, so don't get the chance to see much of the shows and rarely catch any of the best bits. So I say, you do it the best way for you: if there's something I want to see, I'll get it. keep it up guys! RE: rapidshare - misterG - 14-01-2010 17:47 Ok...don't know if its connected, but since I posted last message, I haven't been able to download anything from Rapidshare at all: just keep getting error message "Your IP address ***.**.*.** is already downloading a file" I'm not, and the last file I downloaded completed successfully. But its been about 3 days now: I've rebooted pc & reset hub (modem) numerous times but to no avail. So I have to conclude that rapidshare is CRAP and if they think that blocking my downloads will make me pay to join them then they're more stupid than I thought. But also means I have to join the lobby and ask all you posters if its possible to use megaupload or deposit file instead...not just are they quicker but they WORK and don't give misleading, erroneous errors for no reason. This should give you a new IP address.
