Fifa got three of the four teams they wanted through, only russia let them down. The 'fix' isn't complete until friday though when the latest rankings (which they have said they will use to seed teams at the world cup, are announced. England will drop two places, partly based on a defeat in a meaningless friendly, and france and portugal will move up to places seven and eight.

Henry has apologised saying it's not his fault the ref didn't see it. No one will do anything to him or france platini will see to that. Fifa are interested only in tv revenue, tv share and big name players being in the world cup not any kind of fair and open competition. They want all the smaller countries in the qualifying but god forbid anyone who comes close to turning the big teams over. Every opposing fan at a france game in south africa should take those big foam hands with them and make sure they don't forget that they got their by cheating.

Trouble is, the rest of the footballing world doesn't see "cheating" as the heinous crime that we on the British Isles do, more as a means to an end. if you can get away with shirt pulling, diving, feigning injury, getting an opposing player sent off, or heaven forbid, handling the ball (twice) it's all good, so long as you don't get caught. Unfortunately all these "crimes" are just seen as part of the game, while we are STILL whining and complaining about the Maradonna incident, something that happened well over 20yrs ago. It's the great British sense of injustice, a shame that no one else in the world has it......

Trust me on this, in a week's time everyone in Europe will be saying "Ireland, who?" while we will still be outraged by what took place. Henry won't be losing any sleep over it either, especially as he doesn't play over here any longer, the slur on his once perfect character will remain here and nowhere else, Platini and co will see to that. And if a miracle happened and France actually wind up winning the World Cup (they won't) the world will have long forgotten what took place last night, especially the French part of the world.

they wont replay the game

every 1 asking for it can 4get it

RE: Ireland v France - m100 - 19-11-2009 12:03

Any replay would just get the same result in a different way - the ref would be told by fifa to make sure of it. This is the real reason fifa are so opposed to using technology in the game - they simply don't want a fair outcome where the best team wins.

i was watchin the game as a neutral. Anelka left his leg there. He didn't kick the goalkeepers hand. Anelka didn't move his leg towards the goalkeepers, he's not required to move his leg, neither is he required to hurdle the challenge. if u go in like Given did, ur runnin the risk.
Its clever play from the striker u can say. But it was not cheating. Cheating was wot henry did.

Once again, he anelka didn't kick the goalie's hand, he jus didn't move his leg. If the lino was a homer, surely he wuda said that Anelka's incident was a stone wall penner?
Yes Ireland played well, Robbie Keane is particular was magnificent even tho he fluffed that 1 on 1.

And France were unlucky in the 1st leg. Evra was quite clearly bought down and Ireland got away with.
Lets shout 'conspiracy theories' here.

The only thing that hold weight to the conspiracy theory is changing the seeding rules before the draw.

As an Englishmen, wud ne1 be crying if Rooney or Gerrard took a dive in the 90th minute of a world cup final with the score at 0-0? I dnt think the press wud quite come out with the strong headlines as they have today if Lampard tucks away the penalty and England win the World cup, it'd b more heroes than zero's.

I think most professional footballers wuda done wot Henry did in the same position, its sad but tru.
