DL the version based on your operating system. 32bit or 64bit. Thanks for this. The previous thumbnail maker I had for WinXP, did exactly the same job but would not work with some of the video codecs that I have used. This one works perfectly in WinXP. I did not even have to read the guide to get it working. Just a pity it did not work in linux with the "wine" emulator. video caps - adam13 - 18-01-2010 17:53 hi guys just wanted to know how everyone goes about creating caps for a video. any help appreciated thanks Adam video caps - stevesworld - 18-01-2010 18:08 I use Image Grabber II, free download, as recomended on this forum... http://image-grabber-ii.software.informer.com/ Hope that helps... RE: Thumbnails for vids - oklahoma001 - 09-01-2012 22:44 I figured its best to add my question to this thread as opposed to making a new one. I've been wracking my brain with regards to recording the stream, encoding it, dealing with audio sync issues and thanks to a couple members ive finally got the video all ready to be uploaded. Which brings me to the thumbnails, of course another problem as well. Im using MediaPlayerClassic 1.5.2 and when saving the thumbnails with 3 rows, 4 columns and 1024 pixels wide, i get several duplicate frames. I changed the number of rows, columns, width and it still duplicates frames. Is this a codec problem or something involving my computer itself? I did these about 60 seconds apart and you can see the issues. Any help is great. RE: Thumbnails for vids - aceman65 - 14-01-2012 14:18 I think it might be your version of Media Player Classic. It might not be able to handle the mp4 codec right. Try upgrading it to a new version. I'm using version 6.4.9.1 and I don't have any problems doing thumbnails for video's. You may also wish to check your options settings & change everything off it's default settings. As that can cause problems taking caps a well.

RE: Thumbnails for vids - oklahoma001 - 15-01-2012 01:02 I've been using mediaplayerclassic home cinema for a while now but i gave your media player a try. it wasnt a matter of updating because theyre totally different players. but after installing your recommended player it wouldnt even play any of my babeshow vids at all, even ones that ive downloaded here from other members. So, i downloaded the latest k-lite codec pack and FINALLY made new thumbnails. still using MPC home cinema of course Thanks aceman for suggesting their may have been a problem with the mp4 codec. So if anyone has problems regarding thumbnails in MPC, try reinstalling the k-lite codec pack. RE: Thumbnails for vids - aceman65 - 15-01-2012 01:32 Apologies for neglecting to mention the k-lite codec pack. As that's what I use as well. I think that's where I got my first version of Media Player Classic. As it came as part of the k-lite bundle. But I've updated the player since then. RE: Thumbnails for vids - TheWatcher - 15-01-2012 16:30 I use the mtn thumbnailer in linux, but it also works with Windows. http://moviethumbnail.sourceforge.net/ MP4 Thumbnail Previews - oklahoma001 - 07-02-2012 06:03 As with the most of the forum members, I have a lot of mp4 files. And unlike avi or flv, mp4's dont display a preview image next to the file. Instead I have the "vlc cone". Is this the same for everyone else or do you guys have preview images next to your mp4's? If so, what video codecs have you installed? |
