Yesterday was proof positive of how HHH has exercised his influence behind the scenes over the last 8 years. Where are the main-eventers that HHH and Johnny Ace promised to build, that can hold a candle to the Rock?

Several former WWE workers, both in-ring talent and backstage creative staff have said that HHH is not an egomaniac, but someone who doubts his own ability. They say this is why he has handpicked, nurtured and built "superstars" he knows that will never surpass him.
Examples:
Cena: Hand picked to main event by HHH and Steph. Devoid of in ring talent, no improvement since his début.
Batista: Old, asthmatic and injury prone since day one.
Orton: A loose cannon (previously) and HHH knew that. (Remember the wellness policy violations, suspensions for using weed?) He has developed off his own steam, but is the "Viper" a fully bona-fide great?
Jeff Hardy: When he was picked to win the championship it coincided with the well known backstage knowledge about his meth addiction... Look what happened there.

The Rock has gone on record to state that HHH has always been consumed by jealously towards him. I would guess that the terrible financial records posted recently compelled Vince to make a phone call to the Rock. That must crush HHH.

Anyone else think all this might be a sign of WWE going back to 'PG14' ?. I mean i have not watched WWE for a few years now since it went all kidified (is that even a word lol) but there were rumours going around that they would go back to PG14 when Linda Mcmahon failed in her senate office election thing and i had read that Bieber was definately wanted to host Wrestlemania which would make sense with the age group the WWE were playing for now but with The Rock coming back and doing Wrestlemania instead of Bieber it surely must mean they are seruiosly contemplating going back to the way WWE used to be especialy after The Rock said only a few weeks ago that the WWE should go back to being PG14 as thats what the real wrestling fans wanted and that he would never go back to WWE in its current child friendly state.

They're TV-PG due to their contract with Mattel, who make WWE action figures and toys. There's still a few years left on it too Sad

All this needs is the return of The Rattlesnake and they will be back!

Is that fact, or dirt sheet speculation? In any case, the WWE have slid out of similar contracts before, their conflict against Jakks Pacific being an example.

Depends whether you consider "Power Slam" a dirt sheet or not.

And I quote (sorry) from the Q&A section of issue 194:

"Does PS believe WWE will ever revert to its TV-14 (that is, non-PG) rating?

* * *

WWE is just eight months into what is reportedly a five-year deal with Mattel. As we understand it, WWE, in order to secure this contract and other sponsorship deals, had to agree to eliminate from its television programming and pay-per-views self-inflicted blood loss (blading), swearing (even the word "ass" has vanished) and other content liable to cause offence or embarrassment (such as choking a ring announcer with his own tie).

Unless WWE wishes to break its deal with Mattel (and we can't imagine why it would), the ban will remain in force on blood and swearing until 2015, at least. In other words, the PG version of WWE is here to stay."

So you could say it is just speculation, but reasonably logical speculation at that.

How did they get out of the Jakks contract?

I'd say thats dirt sheet bollocks

Makes no sense for either side to agree to that

On one hand it's great to see The Rock back,in 'the attitude era' he was one of my favorites, but on the other hand i lost a lot of respect for him when he tried to bury his 'Rock' personna and would get the hump whenever it was brought up.
Anyone who saw him on Soccer A.M. getting pissed off when it was ever referenced,or him being a tad dismissive of 'sports entertainment' to fellow guest Evander Holyfield when the presenters plugged an upcoming p.p.v (i think it might have been the Wrestlemania where Big Show faced Mayweather) would agree that 'once he went Dwayne, can't go back again!'.
The fact is his film career has nose dived, and now that it suits him to Re-ignite his 'Rock' personna for either the big pay-check or the boost to his fading film career, either way it's left me a bit cold, and the calling out of Cena is just a rehash of an old storyline.Am i the only one smelling an icon vs icon match like the one he had with Hogan,to pass the torch,so to speak to the next generation?
