RE: Amir Khan not on Sky Sports confirmed! this is good news - manic street pugilist - 19-04-2011 08:44 The stoppage was definitely premature and clearly a bad decision. It didn't affect the result because McCloskey was losing every minute of every round anyway, but the British Boxing Board of Control are going to investigate why the fight was stopped. A mistake by the doctor? Or the referee who has overall control and is the actual decision maker? The cut didn't exactly look terrible, so why did the referee call the doctor in anyway? RE: Amir Khan not on Sky Sports confirmed! this is good news - whothat - 20-04-2011 17:47 watched it online wasnt going to pay 20 quid to fund khan and his hangers on. It Was a disgraceful discission, felt for Paul as that will probably be his only ever shot at a world title, and to have his dream ended like that is sad.And to say the fight was one sided I think is ridiculous, If you watch the fight I can only remember Khan land one real clean punch on paul, the rest were hitting the gloves or he was swinging at air,Paul made him miss and look quite amateurish at times andcaught him with a couple of decent shots. Im not saying Mcckloskey would of gone on to win but it was quite clear that Amir was starting to tyre and paul was getting stronger and getting more success. The way the doc jumped in so quickly and stoped it is dubious ,they didnt even giive the corner a chance to work on the cut (if ya can call it a cut). Kahn was being made to look silly,he clearly thought hed blow paul out of thier in 2-3 rounds.wouldnt be at all surprissed if team kahn had a part to play in it as they could see it was going to be a long night and didnt whant thier gravy train to go down with future big fights already been made. All ye ask is to get a fair crack of the whip and paul ddint. |
