A penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw

Barcelona have on paper a better side.
But there are a few things that could swing it Man Utd's way.

Playing the final at Wembley with the cooler English conditions.
And there could be a weakness in Barcelona's defense if star stopper Puyol is not fully fit.

It will be one goal either way...

I suppose Man Utd have a "home advantage" of sorts.

Some random facts:
Financially the game will be more lucrative than any previous club match before as ticket prices reach an all-time high of £300 per seat. Contrast that with United's final at the Nou Camp in 1999, when a ticket to see their win over Bayern could be bought for as little as £12.

Total gate receipts will be anything up to four times higher than any previous final, given Wembley's capacity of just under 90,000.

It is expected that the worldwide TV audience will outstrip the viewing figures for the Superbowl - making it the largest club event ever.

United are estimated to have the biggest fan following in the world, closely followed by Barca. A recent survey calculated the Red Devils have a worldwide fanbase of a 330m while Barca enjoy a global following of more than 200m.

This final will have the 9th-highest attendance of any European Cup game - The record being at Hampden with 136,500 Surprised

Tomorrow's subject. I hope Man United win so a breathe of fresh air is injected into the game. Got nothing against Barca, if anything they are too good and killing the game. Yes, yes, they are beautiful to watch but they are so beautiful and so good it has become a non-contest. 70% possession a game does not make for a match more of a demonstration. Fantastic if you support Barca, orgasmic to footy nerds who think tikki-takka is the be all and end all, not to so good for the neutral looking for a decent match. (Yeah, yeah. I don't understand football, get over yourselves, no contest, football loses it's appeal.)

Oh I'm sure some evil genius will come up with a plan to counteract it, they always do, football moves on.

Hic. Burp.

Thought I'd put this up as a neutral song.

Barcelona.

Neutral, cos don't all Man United fans love Barcelona after 1999.

And it's a got a proper fat lass, Montserrat Caballé, doing the singing. Pah modern day skinny opera singers, what's that all about. Wink

Effing loving that reference to Raul, quiquems.

Must admit thought he was a bit of show pony with Real Madrid but his performance for Schalke in the second leg at Old Trafford were he was still busting a gut to try and make things happen even though he knew the game was up showed he loves playing football for football's sake.

In the words of Jamie Redknapp, top, top, top, man. Wink
