Its probably just me, but you wouldn't know it was an Olympics kit for Team GB if it didn't have Great Britain written on it

Did anyone see this story in the press yesterday - Women beach volleyball players won't have to wear bikinis at the 2012 London Olympics. I thought it meant they could go nude if they wanted! But no, it seems that a new rule announced on Tuesday says that participants in this summer's beach volleyball competition can wear shorts and sleeved tops if they want and not bikinis.

Remember the last Olympics? The opening sport was Brazil v Australia Womens Beach Volleyball. Dusky tall amazons v blonde tall amazons in skimpy thongs. The entire family suddenly became very interested in sport, apart from great aunt Beth who clomped around in her Army boots until it finished. I had to check I wasnt dreaming several times. Sadly it was all downhill after that.

And now we might even be denied that popular sport.

"Bikinis have helped define the sport but the FIVB wants to respect the cultural beliefs of various countries. 'Many of these countries have religious and cultural requirements so the uniform needed to be more flexible.' said FIVB spokesman Richard Baker. "

Presumably these are countries that dont actually play beach volleyball. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/beach-volleyball/17527518

What the fuck was Sporty Spice doing helping with the draw? Are we really so celebrity obsessed that we couldn't come up with five footballers (and I don't include Robbie Savage in that) to do it?

That's the gold medal gone for the women then!! even if 'Psycho' and the boys could get through the group, what would be the chances of them not meeting Brazil before the Gold Medal game? or Even Spain? And what would even Messi even contemplate playing in the Olyumpic Games if he could?

I just want to say well done to Jess Ennis for winnning her heptathlon meet yesterday and for breaking Denise Lewis' British record in the processs. I think she had to break it to qualify for the olympics.
